Kitchen Finks seems to have evolved from this card, but I like the feeder better. Granted you get the same amount of life but the ability to move the counters gives him more flexibility.

Except that kitchen finks is dealing far more damage while automatically providing the full life. Especially with the new M10 rulings, you can decide between 4 life and no damage at all, two life and one damage, or two damage from the spike. The Finks hit for three, on the other hand, provide two life when killed, then hit for two, and provide two life when killed again.

This card is a cornerstone in my +1/+1 counter deck; he gets along real fine when his friends Evolution Vat and Gilder Bairn come around!

A lot of people compare this with Kitchen Finks, which is rightful. I like Feeder better, because it has more utility than Finks, not to mention ways to put counters on it to prolong its healing.

Where is the Spike feeder in the art?
Trick question! look very closely at the top of the "fruit" (It has a Spike head)

I like him a lot in my Experiment Kraj EDH/Commander deck. Upon entering play, the Kraj immediately gets two good abilities: to move counters away from him onto other stuff, and to remove counters to gain life. That is both pretty neat. If someone kills the feeder or the kraj, you can just remove all counters to get some life, or move them onto other creatures. 4/5

In a vacuum, Kitchen Finks is probably better, providing both the life and the attacker, you can toss it into any green and/or white deck.
In a deck built to take advantage of the +1/+1 counters aspect of the Feeder, the feeder provides far more life. Dropping Predatory Hunger on him is beastly, Primal Cocoon is less impressive, but more reliable for a similar effect.

If one player try to remove the counters to get life and I stack an instant (IE - lightning bolt) before he does this removal. Can he still get the life or the creature is dead before this? Also this action of remove counters count as a normal "instant"?

Run with Doubling Season or Corpsejack Menace and target itself... MASSIVE creature very fast! And, if it's about to get popped, just drain it for TONS of life!
