An excellent card-drawing machine in multiplayer. It doesn't draw too much attention to you on its own, either.

probably useful in edh as well.

Of course it's useful in EDH, EDH is supposed to be played in multiplayer. ;)
That aside, it's still an amazing card.

This thing is a beast of a card-advantage generator. One of my favorite investments in a big game :)

This can definitely help you out in multiplayer, you guys are right. I use this in my multiplayer deck, it's and it utilizes basically four necrotic oozes and four birds of paradise and then a bunch of other stuff with tap abilities. It works really good.

The fun starts when you and an opponent each have one of these in play.

@EvilLCleavage: Why Necrotic Ooze? You know that it doesn't work with this, right? Or are you just telling us about your Ooze deck that happens to use this card?

Pretty outclassed now with Consecrated Sphinx, but this one still has its uses - namely the splashability. And splashable card advantage is a beautiful thing.
Has already been stated, but this is amazing for EDH. Repeatable card draw is essential, and this is some of the best. It's even colorless, so it can go in any deck.

@Fanaticmogg: The Necrotic Oozes would be able to tap for mana with the Birds of Paradise in your graveyard, which would let you draw even more cards.

Indeed. I saw this card for the first time today. Would love it for my EDH deck - this and Omnath, Locus of Mana on the board means you never run out of gas.

5 is probably too expensive for anything but EDH, maybe a deck that pukes out mana like elves. But I dunno, I probably wouldn't run it even in my Glissa, the Traitor EDH dredge deck. I don't dislike it, maybe as top end of the curve for an aggro deck...

Two people mentioned Consecrated Sphinx? Consecrated Sphinx is blue, people. Amazingly, sometimes I like my decks to be Green or Red, without any counters at all. You think White doesn't appreciate a little card advantage?
