This card is amazing, but only if its equipped on creatures with vigilance or Nettle Sentinel or something that isn't negatively affected by the non-untap ability.

I had it at one point in a deck built for Murkfiend Liege. It worked pretty well, but that's not the direction I wanted that deck to go.
You could also attack with the equipped creature, then during your second main phase equip it on an untapped creature (perhaps the one you cast this turn). As long as you have at least two creatures out, you can keep switching the gauntlets back and forth without penalty.

@kurhan Totally Feel You My Decks Go Through Tons Of Changes especially My Murkfiend Liege One. But These Gauntlets In Limited On A vigilant Creature Is Ridiculous.
This card reminds me of the excitement we had at the Mirrodin prerelease that was mostly forgotten. Back then it was a lopsided Standard environment; you could either play affinity, or you could play a deck with 20 artifact removal. You could also stop caring about the metagame and make some casual decks and have some fun, but leave the Spike inside you unsatisfied.

FEAR THE GAUNTLET-WIELDING DIRIGIBLE!!!
Goblin Gaveleer comes to mind =)
When you need it for the win, equip your own critter and swing.
Works with any of the Act of Treason variants too if you have the 6 mana.
(or 3 and a Brass Squire).
Voltaic Construct if its carried by an artifact creature.
