This card is mostly icing. You will use it in an elf deck (duh) and shroud is a strong ability...but overall forest walk is nearly useless (especially since Elvish Campion is both superior and more necessary in your elf deck, and gives the same bonus). Really its a pretty weak lord, even as a 2 drop lord. But it has plenty of neat flavor and shroud is still quite strong...2.5/5 stars.

What are you talking about? This card is amazing. I'll admit that forestwalk isn't typically practical, but the shroud ability can be downright cruel for the opponent. When you think about it, most elves (except for tokens) will have a key function in the battlefield: Elvish Champion and Imperious Perfect give all your elves +1/+1, Wellwisher and Rhys the Exiled gain you massive amounts of life, and Rhys the Redeemed and Elvish Promenade make a lot of tokens. So when one of those key creature that you conrol dies, it can have a negative impact on the rest of your game. But if your elves are shrouded then the only thing you have to worry about are Wrath of God effects, which equally hurt the opponent. This lord rightfully deserves a 4/5, not a pitiful 2.5/5.

To make more use of forest walk play lush growth on opponents land. As for the shroud, this card is very awesome, but still a volcanic fall out target or a lavalanche target. I can't imagine an opponent will see this and not immediately start looking for ways to take it off the field. Otherwise, probably the best low mana elf for an elf deck.

if i was to play this but had a Coat of Arms in play or bring 1 into play afterwards. would the effect of coat of arms be canceled by the shroud the elves would have? is the effect of a coat of arms considered an ability?

Great for elf decks considering most elvish abilities are mas$ effect and not targeting individual elves. Oh, and this doesn't negate Coat of Arms' ability because it is also a mas$ effect ability.

Target is "local" , battlefield is "global". Hit-all's can still effect them (Wrath of God, Evacuation) Global abilities may seem targeted, but a shroud can still be picked out (Whitemane Lion). Notice it doesn't say "TARGET creature you control."

Even though this card has really good effects I believe that it would also benefit an opponent who also uses an elf deck

Neutralion's right, hes a Lord, having started a rebellion against the evincars of Rath that spawned over into Dominaria, not to mention in spite of having suffered tremendously at the hands of the phyrexians, having his only heir taken away and re-made into a lens for the phyrexians study.
The title Lord of Leaves is reflected in his forest walk ability, his shroud is fitting as it is representative of the difficulty the rathian forces have at locating the rebels and their homes, offered by the skyshroud canopy.
Hail Eladamri, I hope they reprint one of the greatest heroes of the times.
2 manna for a 2/2 base is pretty good. lets work from there...

I'm a little confused on this one, could someone please set me straight. The card states that "Elves have shroud" and the oracle states that this card is a elf warrior, but the oracle also states the text feild says "Other elves". Does this mean that Eladamri also has shroud??? If this is true then 5 out of 5 for me.

he unfortunately can be targeted, because when he was printed he wasn't an elf creature. he was just a legendary one.

As stated, obviously this card would probably be side boarded out in a mirror but otherwise this card is sooo good! Giving all elves shroud is great because the more elves you have the better they get. And this guy right here prevents you from losing any of them to those Lightning Bolts (which will burn to a crisp almost any elf), other burn, and black kill spells. Eladamri solves that problem. He is great and if you can find a way to turn your opponents lands into forests (and there are plenty of ways), you can end the game mighty quick. By the way I love elves, they were actually one of the first decks I ever made, and I have one Eladamri. I wish I had three more but they are pretty pricey. Overall 5/5

@Neolexus When this was printed, "Legend" was a creature type in its own right, and because of the "summon" formatting, it was the only type the creature could have; cards like Mirri, Cat Warrior or Crovax the Cursed would say things like "counts as a X". As such, this never gave itself shroud or forestwalk.

I just realized something. Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary is ROFLs. This guy is the Lord Of Leaves, or LOL.

Helps your elves hang around long enough for something bad to happen to the opponent. Guts interactivity with your creatures, but is vulnerable himself. Nice. 5/5
