UHHHHM how are there no comments for this card yet? This was for the longest time the only enchantment burn decks should have outside of maaaaaybeFurnace Of Rath It was Everlasting Torment before everlasting torment. Except you didn't have to worry about wither. And dont even start on that "torment is better because of that damage cant be prevented" nonsense. In a proper burn deck you are throwing all your spells at your opponent, and correct me if I'm wrong, but even in legions it had been ages since people ran stuff to prevent damage to players.
And free shocks as well, even if you got hit too.

One of a very few times a symmetrical effect has helped you before your opponent. Nice.

Great multiplayer card- locks down annoying life gain and puts a clock on the game. It also puts a huge target on your forehead, but you were going to be attacked eventually anyway, right?

Combos MAGNIFICENTLY with Bloodchief Ascension, you don't even need to worry about activating it anymore, it does it by itself!

Great idea @dragonlancehuma ! I've always wanted to make a Bloodchief Ascension deck. I've heard they just never get the job done, but I don't know, this could be what makes it good! A Bloodchief Ascension burn deck! That rolls off the tongue nicely.

Hey guys. Play it with Transcendence... It overrules the "gain life if you would take damage" thing

Burns so good.

This card would be awful paired with Bloodchief Ascension. The second part of the card stops people from gaining life. This includes you. Half the reason BA is so good is the life you gain for the damage they take. Stopping yourself from gaining that life defeats the purpose.

My Tamanoa started to get excited, but then read the whole card and looked at me like I had betrayed it...

Yeah, NARFNira, this and Forsaken Wastes combo nicely with Transcendence. Throw in some shroud enchants for protection, play some filter cards to get them into your graveyard, and Replenish them for the win. Fetchlands will get you under 20 against noncreature decks, and you now have a deck!

It's a staple of legacy burn side decks. That's about all i can say not particularly exciting, but what can you do it's a hate card against control/lifegain decks.

My favorite red enchantment. A classic. Screw you white.

Bloodchief Ascension, Sulfuric Vortex, Grindclock. Of course they won't care about Gindclock, IT JUST MILLS, right??? WRONG!! Turn one: Swamp, Bloodchief, turn. Turn two: Swamp/Mountain, Grindclock, put a charge counter on it, turn. Turn three: Swamp/Mountain, Sulfuric Vortex, another charge counter on the clcok, turn. Their turn, 2 damage on them, quest counter on Bloodchief, turn. Turn Four: 2 damage on you, Land, Volt Charge, quest counter, proliferate the quest counter, mill them for FOUR cards, 8 damage, VOILA!!
What's more impressive about this card is that if you play it in any sort of aggressive red deck with a decent amount of burn, it just kills them.
It also reminds me of the Heavy from Team Fortress 2: Red Mage - "Some people (blue mages) think they can outsmart me. Maybe... maybe. I've yet to meet one that can outsmart vortex."

Great card! Even if your opponant doesn't use gain life cards this still hurts them every turn. It does hurt you as we'll but you're the one playing burn so this puts you at a huge advantage! 4/5
