Easily powers up the Eldrazis and artifacts, works well in level up decks as well. Lotus Vale is better in MOST situations though. 4.5/5 for this one.

Beats Lotus vale because you can use it with fastbond, crucible of worlds, hedron crab, claws of grix, and a forest and island for a turn 1 kill.

Best target for stone rain EVER. Do you play this game with people you like? I would NEVER try to bring this out in my crowd...it practically grabs strip mine and rubs it all over itself.
IMNSHO, if the other one didn't have "lotus" in its name this would be more popular.

At Harleau: This would NOT be a good idea with Vesuva, since Vesuva comes into play as the land, you still have to sacrifice the other two lands, PLUS Vesuva comes into play tapped. Bad idea all around.

I really like this card. I personally run it in my X-damage burn deck. Really helps push the the final points of damage your fireball needs.

My personal favorite part about this land is that it doesn't come into play tapped, and the acceleration is comparable to Sol Ring. I like this more than Lotus Vale for that reason. Plus, it's fun to tap a land for . Btw: Currently Lotus Vale is rated 0.006 points higher than this :P

...I think I was distracted by Lotus Vale; that's the only reasonable explanation.
Here I thought Cloudpost was ridiculous. This guy doesn't even need a four-set of Loci to make a ridiculous amount of mana. Run it alongside some kind of untap effect (Krosan Restorer, perhaps, since your graveyard will be at least two bigger) and it just gets extra wrong extra quick.

no no no, see this does work with Vesuva due to the errata of this card. Before, you had to sacrifice lands as it entered the battlefield, but now, you have to sacrifice lands before Scorched Ruins enters the battlefield. Vesuva doesn't become a copy of it until after it has entered the battlefield, well past the time when you would have to sacrifice the lands.

This seems really effective if used right. I'm surprised I don't see this see play more. It can potentially lead to some devastating plays very, very early. Even it's drawback seems abusable.

Good Card, do not play in multi-player ... seriously, it's not worth it everybody runs land hate for cards like Academy Ruins and Cabal Coffers, but if those aren't out, this is definitely an effective target.
Strange that this card doesn't have more notoriety... I played thru this block as a kid and don't remember seeing this card much...
Also, if the friggin' scorched ruins of this place produce 4 mana then what were they up to before?!? They musta been Jamuraa's equivalent of the dude in multiplayer who's gettin a little too powerful. "Alright guy I'm afraid we're gonna gang up on you now..."
