@niceguygreensboro: Classic combo. People seem to have shied away from COP combos, but yours would be decent. Dingus Egg should come back -- it added an edge to land destruction.
Printed straight through to 8th edition and still nobody knows what a Dingus is.

What if you were running this card as the win condition to a deck? I would play Liquimetal Coating and Smelt/Disenchant or other artifact removal spells.

Banning this was a mistake, this card isn't very good.
Why is this so highly rated? I mean, not that it is too awful, it is something with Armageddon, but it does not deserve a place in dedicated land destruction. (At the time it was banned, it wasn't even played in high end LD decks) The win condition is the least important part of a land destruction deck. Anything can be a wincon because the whole point of your deck is that you prevent the opponent from acting. Sinkhole needed banning, not Dingus Egg.
Dingus Egg is relatively expensive, slow (Two a turn most likely, until your opponent runs out of land drops) and does nothing for you besides damage your opponent. So don't waste slots in your deck on it! Run cards that can effect the board or kill your opponent. Burn spells like Lightning Bolt, a creature (Preferably with an ability like Dark Confidant) or now you can even use a planeswalker. All of these can have utility in your deck outside of just whittling your opponent down, and all of these are probably faster than Dingus Egg.
