:awesome:
Forget Pariah, use with Light From Within. (I 1st heard that from Ken Nagle)

With Whispersilk Cloak, this essentially has "protection from everything." A miniature Progenitus, if you will.

What does protection mean?
-No damage. Dawn Elemental's built-in ability says this.
-No enchantment or equipment. Shroud from the cloak does this.
-Unblockable. The cloak says this.
-Untargetable. Shroud from the cloak.

So, as far as I know, there are no situations where this works differently from Progenitus, aside from the ability to block flying and do much less damage.

@SleetFox
Real protection can't be removed with Naturalize. And the -7/-7 really sets it back from Progenitus status.

The card in itself is solid, but for only 4 mana you get a 3/3 with Flying and it doesn't take combat damage? Epic.

i really love this card. the art is amazingly beautiful and the effect is even better. no white deck should be without it! :D

combo with Pariah and you will get your opponent to look very annoyed. A job well done indeed.

Solid card, but aside from red all colours can somehow deal with it.
Works nicely comboed with Pariah, but green excels at removing enchantments so not really an issue for them.
I'm also not too fond of it's cost. Only usable in pure white decks.

An Absolute classic card, One I will surely craft a deck around.

I believe that this card is the only card other than Once More with Feeling that has 4 white mana in its casting cost. Obviously I'm excluding the Shadowmoor/Eventide avatar spirits.

Strictly worse than Misty Elemental

Probably the best from the waifu elemental cycle.

Many years ago, when Scourge just came out. A friend pulled this. I wanted it so badly, yet he wouldn't trade it to me because my mono-white was already strong enough.

Ever since, there has been better creatures. But I still remember my desire to have this one....a desire which is not fulfilled...maybe in the future, who knows, maybe they'll reprint this in a new set :P

@SleetFox:

Effects that put an Aura directly into play (i.e. not casting it) can have the aura enchant things that are untargetable, and without protection Dawn Elemental won't cause the aura to fall off immediately like Progenitus.

@SleetFox - If you were to cheat an Aura onto this with Zur or something similar the aura would stick to this, while on Progentials it would fall off straight away as it has protection from it.

can someone tell me why this is better than Voice of All?????!

Edit: So I posted the above on 10/26/2011 and all I got was one crummy vote of 0.5 and no reply. I stand by my comment. Sure Voice of All takes a -1/-1 cut, but Dawn Elemental is less splash-able, more target-able by opponents, and plays to less white spells in comparison considering this is an elemental and Voice of All is an angel (e.g. most of the stuff that came out of Innistrad block).

@SleetFox: Aura Graft

Because, voice of all protects you fom one colour while this protetcs you from any kind of damage this creature would recieve, which means, that he's not gonna die because someone decided to Lightning Bolt him. This guy is also an perfect blocker, since he can block anything and not die, while your angel, can be pwned yb other colors.

Ususally, decks aren't monocolored, but if they are, they're tribal, so one 2/2 creature wont benefit you much there. Lets say you are playing vs Red-Green-White deck. You choose red, but then you get attacked by 15/15 green vinnila creature.. what to do then?

I hope you understand now, why this creature is so much better ;)

I keep looking at it and saying, "Ya, it's white, but is it the whitest card in all of Magic?"
Kind of wish they saved the mana cost for a cool cycle or something.

Lightmine Field seems like a natural partner to this one. Dawn Elemental can attack unimpeded, but the other players face a larger dilemma.

Go red and white and you can combine Dawn Elemental, Lightmine Field, Powerstone Minefield, Assemble the Legion, and Sublime Archangel. Their stuff gets boffed for at least 3 every time it attacks, while yours shrugs off the damage and gets huge.
