Hey look, it's a bad Ponder.

yeah but it might help if you need 4 ponders in your vintage deck

Um, isn't it much more like a kiddyfied Portent?

actually, since it's EXACTLY ponder with one more mana, it's more like a bad ponder...

Perfect example of how everything is stronger now over what it was in the late 90s

This isn't a bad Ponder, Ponder is a better this. This came out like a decade earlier, but back then it was actually not bad.

@ The-Earth-Dragon:

Uhh...

Late 90s we had Survival of the Fittest, Lotus Petal, Tolarian Academy, Counterspell, Academy Rector, Forbid, Dark Ritual, Memory Jar, Oath of Druids, Time Spiral, Wasteland, Yawgmoth's Will, Reanimate, Entomb, Buried Alive.

But I guess you're right though, The-Earth-Dragon:

Other than land destruction, mana acceleration, counterspells, library manipulation, reanimation, card draw, and graveyard recursion, I guess everything did get more powerful...

I don't know why this card has such a low rating. You know what this is? Go ahead and have 8 ponders (word for word) in your legacy deck, but you'll have to pay 1 more for 4 of them.

Some call this and ponder power creep. I'm not sure. Back in the day, what with moxes, lotuses, and the like, it was extremely common to have more than 2 mana turn 1. That means you could cast this and something else turn 1, while these days ponder is your only move turn 1.
