So this is kind of like the Pauper version of Magma Jet. Which isn't to say that it's exactly a good card--as it isn't. I'm having trouble figuring out what deck outside of Limited would really want a slow, overcosted burn spell that only scrys for 1. Now, costing this at RR would have been beautiful and probably would have seen play. But as I've been told over and over again, not all cards can be costed effectively.

I'm so sad that they didn't make a vertical cycle consisting of Spark Jolt, Magma Jet and this card. =(

... For insult to injury? You're going to take these in draft, because you go through Born of the Gods BEFORE Theros only to replace them with Lightning Strike in the next pack.

I feel making this a sorcery was a bad decision. Not because of power level, but because this is the kind of effect that goes on instants. I have had on four separate occasions people who were fairly experienced in Magic (including myself) attempt to play this as an instant because they assumed it was one.
Mark Rosewater said that design shouldn't fight human nature. By being a sorcery, I think this spell is doing exactly that.
