Act's like a lightning bolt with an unblocked Flamespeaker Adept. I know it's a specific situation, but this card is pretty good anyway.

I'm pretty happy when I draw this card, assuming it's the first or second turn. After that all the creatures are too big for this to matter in the least. At least the scry allows you to theoretically dig for a card you actually do need. If only it did two damage or, or.. something! This is not Needle Drop.

The best part is that it's a projectile with high-priority and can cause wall-bounce. It also magnetizes the opponent, making it essential for Tager's gamepl-

The Geistfire/Gut Shot of the set. I'm not sure why people don't like these cards, one mana for one damage and some kind of interesting trick is great. One damage that can be slung at either the creature or player is worth two damage that can only target one of the two and scry is a cool ability, this will keep much needed momentum up in red decks when the game drags a little longer than it should have.

@Odee Geistflame can be a two-for-one in the right circumstances. Gut Shot can be cast for zero, and more importantly it can be cast in a blue deck. Spark Jolt, however, does not have a upside as significant as either of those, and I think anyone should play Magma Jet or even Shock over it.
This is way more useful than it looks. It's a nice reliable source of 1 damage, cheap library manipulation for you, and it enables Heroic. Flames of the Firebrand is still better, but in Limited, this can definitely be really useful.

@Nucleon: Did you just reference Blaz Blue on a card about zapping things for science (augury, whatever)?

It's not exciting, but far from useless. Every card has a home. This one I managed to stick as a 3-of into a Broros humans deck. Is my opponent playing something that needs just one damage to kill? (Even works as finishing off after blocks.) Great, I get to fry their critter and scry that much closer to Elspeth. If they don't, zap one of my own guys and remind him who triggers his heroic. The thing is, most of them don't have more than 2 toughness to begin with (Phalanx Leader is thankful for the way triggers work), so Jet or Lightning Strike would not be very productive as triggers.
Everything is useful, you just have to find out what they do that no one else does.

Akroan Conscr loves to get a quick spark jolt for that final attack.

(If you play this for Heroic triggers, try Flames of the Firebrand instead.)
