Honestly this is a pretty good common. A 2/3 for two with (overpriced) regen? I wasn't going to use him as a blocker anyway. Probably my favorite minotaur in the set.

Not sure how limited is going to play, but this is either going to be VERY good or VERY bad. I don't see it finding a middle ground.

Definitely a solid Minotaur. Comes down just before Rageblood Shaman and once Kragma Warcaller comes down, your little 2/3 beater becomes very very scary.

This card serves a really important purpose: Not only is it the cheapest minotaur in the set, but it's tied with Anaba Ancestor and Minotaur Explorer as second cheapest minotaur ever. Ancestor is relatively uninteresting (buff's pretty weak and spirits don't really mesh with minotaurs well) and Explorer has a drawback that's probably pretty noticeable if you're running tribal. It's also the only Minotaur that can regenerate, even if it's at kind of a ludicrous cost.

It also occupies that mana slot right under when you can start dropping things with Didgeridoo, and serves as a worthwhile blocker on the turn it comes out since it lacks haste and has 3 toughness.

Of course, Rageblood Shaman is the true winner of this set's minotaurs.

this could play a key role in minotaur tribal, if that becomes a thing

He may be my favorite Minotaur in the set. I've been wanting a minotaur tribal for so bloody long this makes me really happy. Rageblood shaman comes in a close second!

Love Love Love me some minotaurs.

The three toughness will go a long way. Also, if you average out the PT of creatures at common and uncommon in Theros, it is 2.2/2.7, so many will not have enough power to kill him. You chances get even better against white and black where the average power drops to below 2! (1.7 and 1.9 respectively)

An undercosted red minotaur in Magic? This must be a dream...

I'm surprised this wasn't costed at three mana instead. However, perhaps I'm spoiled because even at two mana I don't see this getting much play beyond Standard and (obviously) Limited. Perhaps if it was a 3/2 I would be more excited--but even so, this is definitely a great pick in Limited as it starts your deck off fast and can even be regenerated. Having played both with and against it in draft, I'm always happy to cast it and never happy to see it barreling down on me turn two. As has been said, the three toughness is especially good in this Limited because most cheap creatures are either 1/X or 2/X. Still, one wonders how useful regeneration on a creature that can't block is really going to be.

This could catch a lot of players offguard in a neatly curved draft deck.

Nice draft deck of all 2/2 bears.

Not only helps make minotaur tribal a thing, but it's pretty good!

This was very good for me at the prerelease. Very few 1-drops were played, so when I cast this on turn 2 when I played first, it put pressure on opponents early. Opponents either traded valuable utility creatures with it or spent answers on it, leaving them with fewer answers for my bomb creatures (Ember Swallower and Mistcutter Hydra). The regeneration was never relevant, but it could have been if I'd been in B/R instead of R/G.

It's a very good common for sealed and a solid early pick in draft. But unless B/R minotaurs becomes viable later in the block and wants a steady 2-drop, it won't see competitive constructed play.

Maro has said that further sets in Theros will feature minor, multi-coloured deities. This card looks like it might be spoiling the Rakdos coloured god is Mogis (destruction or chaos themed I imagine).
Also this thing is a beatstick in limited. I ran three and they were game changers, and I didn't even run any swamps. Like your gonna be blocking in black/red anyway.

Two mana for a 2/3 with regeneration and is a creature from a relevant tribe at common? Holy crap!

...Wait, is this a solid, common Red creature?

I keep seeing people describe this as a bad card, but deathtouch and combat tricks aside, there are very few commons that can block it without trading for less than 5 mana, and not even that many uncommon either

Really good, yet balanced and common worthy. It is a bone thrown to pauper players and anyone who wants to buy some packs but not overspend.

He is a good target for Epiphany Storm in Draft.
