Regarding flavor they did a good job, that's why they restricted the use to one of your green creatures. But they forgot just how much more conditional that makes this card compared to the other colors. They just flat out exile, counter, or destroythe stuff.
Both you and an opponent need a green creature for this to work, otherwise it will fizzle right away. And even then, the buff might not be enough to kill the creature, or at least make yours survive. It should at least have given +3/+3 to make sure it works in your favor if the conditions are met. Or it could have been an instant. In both cases, it would have made it more viable to profit from the effect in, before or after combat. (It does give you such an advantage as it is, but combat damage and fighting will probably kill your creature then.)
I also don't understand why they would reduce the target to one of your opponent's creatures and don't just let you choose any* (other) green creature. The other colors in the cycle don't have that restriction either. (* This card would have been the most accurate card name ever if you could let your creature fight itself :D)
It would have allowed combos with cards like Protean Hydra or Sprouting Phytohydra. Using a Theros card with Hydras, that just sounds right. Then how come it won't let you? :(

If it didn't target only green creatures this would be great removal. Unfortunately it's limited at best.
I got SO excited reading this at first, then I saw those dreaded words "green creature an opponent controls". So close to being good...

I HATE this card. I had it in my hand every game at my drafts. It was cast once.

I see this being a great sideboard card for green aggro decks in modern. It can allow your creatures to remove opposing Tarmogoyfs or Scavenging Oozes while swinging in for additional damage the same turn.

But great artwork. Will look swell as a foil. That sunset!
