Somehow I don't think an extra +1/+1 is worth an extra {W}{1} over Spirit Mantle.

Gatecrash really does not like the Aura Decks out there. Surprised this didn't get printed for a cost of 1WW to make the card playable in constructed. Obviouslly a throw back to Spirit Mantle last year.
Yes spirit mantle is better. But spirit mantle isn't in RTR. Heck it's not even in standard right now. This is still a fine card.

At 4cc, I'd use Angelic Destiny instead, flying and +4/+4 makes you immune to most of the stuff Holy Mantle could give you.

What's mono green gonna do about this? Almost all of Greens removal is combat tricks and things that require creatures.

@Purplerooster: Conveniently, Naturalize was reprinted in this set. I think mono green can just use that.

This combos fairly well in-set with Alms Beast. Eight damage a turn starting turn 5 isn't bad. If you get Alms Beast in limited, be sure to find some of these too.
Protection from creatures is an interesting way for to get unblockability. This is more balanced than Spirit Mantle.

Pretty damn good in limited. Saved our bacon a couple of times in 2HG. Slap it on a Guardian of the Gateless and shut down aggro forever unless they topdeck removal.
A legitimate BOMB in Limited. Lost more games to this during prerelease weekend...the worst was when it got slapped on a massive Gideon. Yeesh.
Outside of that, yeah, I'd rather have Spirit Mantle. But this is still worth a 3/5.

They had to make it 2WW instead of 1W. Otherwise everyone would just use it and Guardian of the Gateless together all the time. I actually managed to pull it off during the pre release. Made me untouchable.

Spirit Mantle was stupid good and you all know it, spoiled brats. Any enchantment that reads "Enchanted creature is unblockable" should, in and of itself, cost 2.

Probably laughable in constructed, but a serious problem if it resolves in limited. The misfortune of having to stare down a Truefire Paladin enchanted with this is something your opponent won't soon forget.

2WW gives you: a beefed up creature, an unblockable attacker, an unkillable blocker that stops trample in its tracks (and hey - got vigilance? You've now got both), immunity to creature abilities, and all but the squishiest critters turns into a 2-for-1 against Shocks, Pillars, and Spears.
Spirit Mantle was great, but when you take into account removal protection, evasion AND damage boosts, there's enough of a jump between PfC +1/+1 and PfC +2/+2 to justify the increase in cost.
And seriously, Turn 4 this onto the Fiendslayer Paladin you dropped your third turn? Against anything that relies on red or black for removal, you're now sitting on an indestructible first-striker with lifelink that hits for 20% starting health. That's hardly a bad setup.

to eldrazi-worshiper: you couldn't do that, it has a converted mana cost of 4

Typical burn spell can deal 3 damage but can't do much against four. I think Holy mantle is intended to protect from burn more than spirit mantle did, thus the increase.

Hero of Iroas might make this playable in casual constructed. Nice little t3 play if Hero survives to your next turn.
