Flavor text actually makes sense... huh

I think the instant speed is worth the trade off vs. Infest. It's nice that both exist.

I was thinking how you get so much more than Nausea for just Black.

Instant-speed removal of tokens from Lingering Souls and plenty of other things. If Mono-Black Control does end up being a real deck this rotation (as even Wizards is starting to think) then this would definitely be at least Sideboard worthy.

I'm not sure about this card's playability, but damn that is some cool art.

The flavor text is only one reason why you should serve Lord Bolas.

Aww, Infest was too good?...

Well, actually, it would've been pretty insane if it was reprinted. I suppose this is entirely fair.

This card's true comparison is Marsh Casualties. 1 more for instant speed is fair, but the loss of the -2/-2 kicker really hurts this, because when I use Casualties it's kicked 80% of the time. There are too many things that survive -1/-1. Would have been overpowered at -0/-2.

I don't see how this gets played except maybe in casual mono black decks. Even in limited, for the same mana cost you've got guaranteed death with Murder or Vampire Nighthawk. If you didn't get either of those in your packs, you probably shouldn't be playing black.

This card will always have a place in my heart. Killed 204 of her goblins for 3 mana.. 3.5/5

Aww how cute! It's a baby Mutilate!

It seems like Innistrad had a lot of good token strategies and ever since Dark Ascension there has just been tons of token hate printed. This is no exception.

And here's the card that an exalted deck really doesn't want to see. Cast right after your opponent drops a cheap exalted guy to boost his attacker, and wipe most of his board.

I am a pro and was playing an opponent that had a lot of 1/1 creatures in a tournament. I decided to play this card and it killed most of his creatures.

No one here seems to notice the wording. Your creatures are NOT affected. That makes this card a Black Sun's Zenith for 1 that only hurts your enemy. Solid.

Amazing sideboard card against token and weenie decks.

Strictly upgraded by Profit//Loss. Which, oddly enough, looks much worse than Zealous Persecution.

would this card affect a creature with protection from black? i understand how protection works but does the -1/-1 count as damage? Or does it still go through?

@ c0ma6, creatures with protection from black still get -1/-1 and its not considered damage either, its counter,
