Unholy Strength with an upside. I think this card is going to screw with a lot of people in Limited (think Furor of the Bitten, but potentially harder to block).

Demonic Taskmaster may fuel some very budget control decks.

Lone Revenant always was a bit on the wild side.

Feels like they're really trying to force the "Play only one creature at a time" thing, and that's NEVER going to happen.

Finally, a legitimate time to say "Strictly better than X"
In this case, Unholy Strength.

These sort of cards may see some good casual play. I dunno.

Alright, basically whatever rating you gave Unholy Strength, just add a half a star to it and you get this card's rating. Unfortunately, Rancor this ain't; however, it'll still do in a pinch in Limited if you somehow managed to wind up with a Black deck.

swords_to exile: Strictly better you say? What if your opponent has a really troublesome creature you need to kill in order to win, and you draw a Deadly Allure while you have enchanted your only creature with this?

Ok how can this have less * than Unholy strength? TF?

Exalted was called shite until it started ripping up everything. I will remain cautiously skeptical of this theme in AVR. What if your 'lone' creature is, say, Griselbrand, and you use the gain 3 life enchantment?

I'm just saying- these are playable until PROVEN otherwise. wait for the tournaments to happen, THEN poo-poo all you want.

Also, Stoneforge Mystic and Disciple of the Vault were utterly, completely missed before they got banned in Standard. who's to say that won't happen again? By that logic, Marrow Bats is probably the sleeper-chase common of the set, bc everyone says he sucks. LoL, when I revisit this comment in 5 years, I'm gonna be all

But...I SWEAR....I was JUST. KIDDING. if only they hadn't printed *insert dumb card from Ravnica or M13*

WIZARDS!
I WAS JUST! KIDDING!

Monoblack with less than 10 creatures isn't uncommon. Skittering Skirge is in love with this card, especially with dark ritual. That's a four-turn clock on the first turn.

great, now i can stop putting unholy strength on my fog of gnats and start using this.

Unlike most of the "loner" cards, this one is also fantastic at something else: early aggression. I just beat face with a couple of these and cheapie creatures in draft. Put one or two on a little guy like Hunted Ghoul, and you've got a really surprising quick win coming your way. Limited or pauper champ.

Phyrexian Rebirth then next turn enchant the artifact token with this and swing.

@Fenix "Oh yeah?! But what if *insert ridiculously contrived scenario here*"
Dude, just face it. It's a strictly better card.

This card is very strong and, sadly, outclasses my old Unholy Strength.

Aggro are becoming epic nowadays!

This is kinda cool actually. It's not unbelievably good, but especially seeing how there isn't that much cheap removal in Innistrad block.Your average low-cmc super aggressive deck will like this, it is decent. In limited it is quite possibly really really awesome. Seriously, this is much better than Unholy Strength in the early game, even though it will be outclassed rather quickly. Imagine sticking this on a Gravecrawler or a Vexing devil (that your opponent foolishly allowed to resolve)
