This guy makes me hopeful. He could help usher in a new era of not-completely-terrible vanilla commons.

Almost a bomb by himself in limited. There isn't much that can top it at common (block it sure, stopping is less likely). This will be a really early pick for me.

The art is amazing, but the rest of him, not so much. Just like so many other cards in DA, there's just nothing to see. Not outright awful, but just so plain and uninteresting that it'll never see play. No one is ever going to put this card on the table outside of limited, doomed to be forgotten. Just like Dark Ascension.

It's just another garbage limited filler-common. However, as far as garbage goes this isn't so bad. As A0602 mentioned, this will do well in limited due to its fair cost and power. While I may never play with this card, I am not disappointed in it.

Flavor text is a bit hyperbolic...

In Innistrad, they came up with Kindercatch, 6/6 for 6 mana. Now they come up with this, 5/5 for 5 mana(not that i'm complaining, this is really good). I wonder if they'll come up with a 4/4 for 4 mana in the next set.

Vanilla, but at least he's not an Ironroot Treefolk (unlike that terrible white reprint of the Treefolk in Innistrad.)

I wish this was a spirit. Every little synergy counts in limited. His PT to cost ratio is fine, though.

Commander Review: The best card ever printed. 5/5

"In a world of flavor, It's a scoop of vanilla."

This is some freaky art. Seriously.

Probably the scariest art in the block. I'd rather encounter a horde of zombies popping out of cracks in the walls than run into that thing in a dark forest.
It looks like the rancor (not that rancor) that lives under Jabba the Hutt's throne room, only hairier.
Based off the art alone, I'd say the flavour text is completely apt.

I pulled a foil one at the prerelease. I was a little sad that such a beautiful and terrifying art is so wasted on a mediocre vanilla creature.

A prime example for the broken-ness of Heartless Summoning. 4/4 for . Obviously.

Strictly better than Torsten Von Ursus. I'll have to make the swap in my Legacy deck... No, wait, Fierce Empath won't be able to tutor for him, so I guess he's not strictly better after all...

Something like Ant Queen would be better almost all the time.

20 years and still no 5/5 trampler for 3GG. And green is the creature color.

@TrinityVill: They called me mad when I warned them of a beast half-man, half-bear, and half-pig, yet all beatdown. They confused me when they called it vanilla, because I'm pretty sure it's going to be tasting you, not the other way around. Is it retarded ursine or terrifying swine? Only Simic Al Gore knows for sure what happens when you mix Grizzly Bears, Curse of the Swine, and Human Frailty.
