Essentially, "Wrath target player with the right concentration of creatures." Pretty playable in EDH or sealed.
@Superllama12
This is a colored spell that targets.

"Hey guys, sorry I went on a drunk rampage!
...guys?"
--Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre

@Kryptnyt: Right, I always forget that, thanks! I knew there was some reason not to use him, but then it slipped my mind in the three seconds it took to type the first part!

In EDH, this is gonna be hilarious, making target general fight the rest of his army.

I think your Typhoid Rats will fight your army of fatties.

and... the Rat lives.

Drop this on an opponent's Phyrexian Obliterator and watch them cry.

For Commander it's a tad too expensive I think. Eight mana is a lot for a mass removal that might or might not work. Especially since other mass removal cards in that mana cost range hit all opponents instead of just one. But if you are new to Commander and don't have a lot of choices on mass removal, it's still right.
3/5 for Commander

Nice design but even for EDH a little on the expensive side with CMC8!

You wouldn't believe it, but just days before this card was spoiled, I designed almost exactly the same effect in Blue+Red (gold not hybrid), and called it 'Conspiracy of the Mastermind'. I intended it as a design based off of Emperor Palpatine's machinations in the Clone Wars, and it effected your creatures too, but selectively. Net result is you get to decide exactly who lives and who dies on each side, sort of like Master Warcraft.

...Okay, so they reprinted Plague Winds in red... But at a metagame where every spell past turn four is countered and you die on turn five?

★★☆☆☆ (2.8/5.0) (2 votes)
I'm kind of excited for this to get reprinted somewhere just so the art doesn't have to be werewolves and they can do something totally silly with it. Obviously this art is great, but the idea behind the card has so much potential to be goofy.

This card is really manly. It might not accomplish much with that CMC, but it has incredible manliness to make up for that.

I know it isnt exactly the same, but with Fight being just recently keyworded, why couldnt it be 'target creature an opponent controls fights all other creatures that player controls'? I wouldnt mind my opponents deathtoucher to die with the rest.
sarroth
★★★☆☆ (3.5/5.0) (3 votes)
Typhoid Rats and any other deathtoucher will die to this, people. Read the rulings, it's in the first one: "State-based actions aren't checked in the middle, so creatures that are dealt lethal damage by the targeted creature will still deal damage." So the deathtouch creature will deal 1 point of damage to each other creature, enough to kill them with its deathtouch ability, but they don't die before they deal damage to the deatouch creature. They all die.

Very cool effect. A little too many words in the text box. A little too many numbers in the mana cost.

Pulled one in the PR. I'll probably put this into one of my EDH decks. Likely my Bolas deck, where I can get Chandra Ablaze to cast it for free.

Played it in seal. It was utterly horrible and unplayable. Mostly since the cost was too great.

Death touch creatures don't survive. And it should say "fights"
Damage is done, basically, all at once. being that nothing happens in-between.

★★★☆☆ (3.8/5.0) (4 votes)
Why can't this cost two less? It makes Flame Wave look efficient, and Lavalanche ***es on it. Not to mention Chandra Nalaar's ultimate, which is arguably easier to pull off. Pretty much only good for Red/Green ramp.

the red plague wind! The cost is unimportant- this card has bragging rights written all over it. If you pull it off, you're bound to feel pretty good.

@Tezz , @A0602 "State-based actions aren't checked in the middle, so creatures that are dealt lethal damage by the targeted creature will still deal damage."

E.g. Typohid rats is the target. it deals lethal damage to allother creaters that player controls, then they all deal damage to the rats. THEN the game checks to see if creatres should die.
phyrexiantrygon
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.5/5.0) (1 vote)
@ Zoah

Actually, it says "then", so one deals damage to all of them, and THEN they deal damage to it. So, say you use it on their plague stinger, all their guys would be hit for 1 -1/-1 counter, and THEN deal their damage (all -1'd) to it. Deathtouch, now, deals damage to all, THEN takes damage from all, and then everyone dies.

And 5/5 for the sexy flavor.

An overpriced card? In Dark Ascension? What a shock.

Interesting, and potentially very funny effect, but almost completely unplayable in Constructed. I couldn't even see this doing a lot in limited. It will be fun in EDH and Archenemy, at least.

Made for Commander, where big stupid monsters can happily kill off their whole army... and maybe be killed in turn. Sort of a targeted Day of Judgement, but with a lot more flavor. Sadly, in most games there are far more effective ways to win, but few as funny.

For EDH I would suggest running this in a black/red deck. Combine this with something like Everlasting Torment to make sure nothing on their side of the bored remains.

@ Ferlord:

The Obliterator being targeted is still under the control of the original summoner when this goes off...as is every creature that beats on it. The spell doesn't transfer control, so the Obilterator's controller is boned if this ever happens to resolve. This trick also works with Blood Feud.

WIZARDS. Why did you introduce 'fight' as an entirely new keyword, and then never use it again!?

Both this card and Wrack with Madness should have it.

I would say Wolf Run deck sideboard material because of all the ramp, but they don't need board wipes, they just have their titan trample over everyone

@ Ferlord: Mr. Ironclad is correct. Alpha Brawl isn't the source of the damage, the other creatures are. You shouldn't give people false information.

Love this card for its cost. I'm the kind of guy who likes "underpowered" cards. Like those in Kamigawa, not like Homelands. Also, the effect and flavor kicks meese.

I wish it was target player, then shenanigans would ensue. I would make a U/R/W deck and run Drogskol Reaver. I'd love to gain a ton of life and draw my deck.

And here I thought hitting my opponent's Obliterator with Wrack with Madness was fun!

It's a shame that Wizards thinks red can get 8 mana on the table before losing that game, though.

This card is fun simply for the flavor and the fun way in which you can wipe the opponent's board with it. Though it is hard to pull off, but fun if you do. Use best in R/G with mana ramping.

This card gets a 5/5 for fun and flavor. The idea of a Grave Titan and his legion of zombies all massacring one another is priceless.

This is a really, really fun casual card, with a few notes

1) Creature stalls are a lot more common when removal and especially board wipes and counterspells are less favored.
2) You can reach 8 mana a lot easier with Seething Song avaliable
3) This is, essentially, a Plague Wind, but one mana cheaper. Sure, sometimes something will be left alive that wouldn't have if you had the actual Wind, but really... In any case, it's one of the most powerful effects you can get in magic short of "You Win the Game"
4) In Multiplayer, it lends itself to a 'Spoiler' strategy, where your goal is less to win and more to take down Number One. At some tables, against some targets, it will result in a lethal dogpile, where in other cases the Brawled opponent will get a chance to recover out of pity

Yeah, it's totally useless in Tournament formats -- Standard, Extended (Does anyone play that anymore?), Modern, Legacy, or Vintage -- but something this amusing will always find a home somewhere.

Ouch. Let's say you have a BIG creature like, let's say Emrakul, the Aeons Torn . He'll kill your other creatures and possibly have the others kill him. You go from winning to losing. Too expensive, but game changing, especially in commander.

Opponent in response I play an instant giving the targeted creature lifelink! Lol, I really like this spell, but not at this cost. Then again why are so many board wipes 4 cmc?

I really like the idea of Typhoid Rats trouncing its entire team. 4/5 for flavor.
