I think that Hanna may be a good EDH general. I was thinking there would b e a lot from the Esper "tribe" in Alara and a lot from Mirridon I could use.

All she needs is a whispersilk cloak and voila, you have a bomb in any artifact deck. Use this to outlast your opponent and whittle down their defenses until nothing is left and they are out of Disentombs or whatever -return to hand- mechanic cards they have in their deck.

Not a bad card, really. In some W/U control builds this could be pretty decent. I mean, it can really help you get back a counterspell when you need one.

Excellent EDH tech. I run her in my {W}{U}{G} deck with Jenara, Asura of War as general. Especially nice with enchantments like Seal of Cleansing and the other "Seal of" cycle. In a long drawn-out EDH match, being able to reuse cards this cheaply can be a huge advantage.

@Tigguris: Really? 1WU, T to return an artifact or enchantment from your graveyard to play? If that's what her ability was, Hanna would be one of the most broken cards in Magic. That would just be poor card design. As is, Hanna is a solid recursion engine for artifacts and an amazing one for enchantments. There's not too much about her worth whining about, except she could have been a bit hardier. Being a 2/2, maybe even a 2/3, wouldn't have made this card too obscene.
So many avenues you can go with Hanna as your General in EDH. Stax/Prison or Combo seem the most fun though :)

The 'H' isn't capitalized because it's an older card. Look at any of the older cards (hurloon Minotaur, for instance) and the 'H' isn't capitalized. Don't ask why they didn't--they just didn't do it on the old cards.

She's gonna be a blast with Theros! With Gods and their weapons ALL being at least an Enchantment, she can keep them coming back with ease! (which is good, considering how easy it is to at least destroy the weapons, being both Artifact AND Enchantment... can you say "fragile"?

For that activation cost, I expected her ability to at least return it to play. I'm quite disappointed. All in all, it's a very underwhelming incarnation of the legendary Hanna.

Dear Wizards, I like so many others who have been playing the game since its earliest days have developed a love for your product--your ingenuity has kept the game fresh for many years and we greatly appreciate it. Every once in a while you give us old timers a nice throw back, something to look at with new eyes and appreciate with a new perspective.
When you commissioned Terese Nielson to come out and re-work everyone's favorite girl next door, you gave us a new way to see one of our favorite characters. Now, I--we--come to you and ask you to give her (and her artist) yet another way to appreciate hanna in the form of a card with her new art.
Please reprint hanna in some sort of a commander's block...we miss her.
