Good old value. I remember when I wanted to trade for one of these and my buddy didn't want to trade it! And now I have a ton of Shriekmaws and he's not so attractive anymore, but still solid! Hill Giant is a solid midpick card and Doom Blade is a solid first pick. This guy would obviously be solid in any limited format!

3.5 a solid creature! Removal is removal, even at 6 mana and sorcery speed. There might be better things but imagine all the fun you can have with this guy. Unsummon, Cloudshift, Reclaim, Raise Dead. I would put in a deck with darksteel ingot to help with the cost. Elegant card for black control.
