I'm worried that Scavenge isn't going to work. Please prove me wrong people.

As a common this seems like a rather solid card and a cool bridge between black and green deathtouchers.

More limited material. Four mana with two colors for a bear with deathtouch is too much, no matter if it can be scavenged or not.

Really too bad that this is tied for the second cheapest Scavenge in the set. We really would have appreciated some kind of cheap 1-power utility creature with some ability ability and Scavenge Black or something

I'm thinking this will be one of the better uncommons in the set, it'll trade for anything that doesn't fly, and you're almost guaranteed to have enough mana to scavenge this on a later turn.

It also has a nice synergy with Grisly Salvage (common), Jarad's Orders and Lotleth Troll which may give you the option to scavenge without losing card advantage. In limited this will surely create some powerful decks.

Another welcome addition to the M:TG scorpion family!

This is really quite decent. Scavenge is a natural fit with Deathtouch since it's usually used to block trade.

Pros like me know how great this scorpion can be. Use him as a deadly chump blocker and then scavenge him for cheap later. Sounds like a 2 for 1 to me.

Garbage.

5/5 stars of Garbage.

Golgari is Epic :)

In my opinion, this card is underrated. Fairly cheap ground blocker which makes the opponent think twice about attacking just because of deathtouch, but makes them think even more due to scavenge. "Oh, you can swing, I'll kill your creature and mine, then buff my striker by 2 ;)"

@Lotsofpoopy : The fact that you say you're a pro in every one of your comments leads me to believe that you are, in fact, a noob.

Would it have been too much to give him reach? Trestle Troll is ok, but I think this would have been a much better choice and would have helped deal with the problem Golgari has dealing with flying creatures. Ah well, he's still competent and versatile in his own right.

@LotsOfPoopy: With all this hating going around about you, I feel as though I should step in and say that I appreciate your funny comments, even though you may or may not really be a pro.

@LotsOfPoopy: i'm with @Subtle_Kay - your sarcasm makes the gatherer better. Do you have a tumblr, twitter, blog or something like that?

To be fair, Typhoid Rats was a bomb in Limited. A 4-cost deathtoucher is by no means bad, because it becomes a 4-cost kill-spell and if has an extra power bonus stitched on.

When you're drafting Golgari, you should look for Dreg Mangler's, Golgari Decoy's, Korozda Monitor's, and then these. Slitherhead, as cheap as it is, is extremely underwhelming, and all of the other scavenge cards have too high a cost or are not good-costed creatures (terrus wurm? What's that??)

@Subtle_Kay: Indeed. The Gatherer does appear to have a few too many literal minded teenagers for its own good. Lotsofpoopy's ironic, but not inaccurate, optimism brightens up many a comments thread.

The Sluiceway Scorpion has become the official Gatherer fan page for Poopy. I've found myself looking out for LOPs comments - why no 5 star ratings?!

Pretty much the most efficient common creature Golgari has right now. I suppose that makes sense given it's multicolor, but the guild could really have used even slightly more efficient monocolor creatures. Overload and Cipher have Goblin Electromancer as an excuse, but what about Scavenge? Drudge Beetle in particular was a missed opportunity.

Works great with Gyre Sage. Just strong enough to give that first +1/+1 counter, and loves to trade and die for the scavenge. While you're playing G/B, throw a Rancor or Ring of Kalonia on it to make it unblockable, or kill their whole field if they happen to block. Use with Revenge of the Hunted for just the second one, plus a good bit of spillover damage.

Surprised they have yet to make a chunky or a rare scorpion. One with first strike and deathtouch. And lasers.

This guy is a 4/5 from me. Solid card.
I had 4 of these in my Golgari Scavenge deck, and I removed one only so I could sub in Deadbridge Goliath, and even then I'm still hesitant about subbing any more out.
This guy is a 2/2 deathtoucher for CMC 4. In a pinch, he's a great blocker against a big nasty, and I NEVER feel bad about losing him because his scavenge cost is less than his casting cost... so he can go straight onto my Lotleth troll, who is the real powerhouse of the deck.
He's one of the few scavenge cards with a cheap mana cost scavenge for his power. Most other cards with power 2+ cost 5 to scavenge.

This is a card with fantastic synergy, which is good to keep in mind.
