One of the most interesting cards in Magic. So glad this got printed.

Sadly, http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=120667&stc=1&d=1309325921 doesn't actually hold a candle to this. One of the great parts about FoF is that it's an instant. We're not going to see sphinx of uthuun played in any sort of constructed format. Despite it's great ability.

Can't believe anyone rated this lower than a 4. Obviously they've never played it.

Really how is this only 3.865? This card is so good. Let me point out that it is an instant and can get you (in most cases) 3 cards, maybe four if there was something really good. In EDH (Commander) make some alliances and get them to put all of the cards in one pile. (That is legal right?) 5*

@JFM: Doubt that's legal, considering it demands two piles to be created. Maybe Sorin Markov along with a card that'll change the top few cards for you would probably be what you're looking for though. Neat card, just don't see what's the haps with restricting it.

Edit: Never mind, tried it. Guess a 0 card pile is actually considered a valid pile. Now I partially see why it was restricted. :S

I gave it one star for being blue, one star for having Jace on it, one extra star for Jace looking badass, and another star for the flavor text. Then I read the damn thing and was like o.O :O HOLY CRAP! :D

I can't add much to what's been already said, except that as broken as this card is, its even MORE broken when you're playing something with heavy graveyard recursion. "Oh no, my Ulamog's Crusher was in the pile I didn't choose? Damn, and here I only managed to get two Exhumes from the one I did choose."

Repeat for various other graveyard-dependent effects. Threshold springs to mind.

@hippieray that is considered "kingmaking" or setting someone up for the win and is the most sure-fire way to make sure you are unable to find your way into an edh game

It doesn't say that the flavor text is a quote from Jace, but it doesn't need to. It sounds exactly like him.

@DarkLycan84 Does it say on the card that they're flipped face down?

@alkatrazjr.... The card says Reveal top 5 cards of your library then opponent separates into 2 piles then put one pile into your hand and one into the graveyard

mindslaverthem then fact or fiction, put all the cards in one pile if you cast it from your hand then take all the cards if you cast it from theirs put them all in the graveyard.

This card is so broken in my Damia, Sage of Stone reanimator EDH. So is Windfall.

Gets 5/5 for awesome art, great flavor, manageable cost, and a useful ability that puts stress on the opponent and your favorite pick.

I really want one of these.

I'm sure I've seen an alternate version of this, where you do the dividing and your opponent chooses which pile you pick. Anyone got an idea what it is?

EDIT: Ah, it's Truth or Tale. I'd probably pick that to be honest, but these cards are always fun for messing with your opponent.

@psychicobo: Truth or Tale puts some of the cards on the bottom of the library. This puts them in the graveyard which makes it a lot better for reanimation, flashback or recursion decks. That's why this has +1.6 rating compared to Truth or Tale.

I love the flavor text. As if it's mockingly directed at the opponent who needs to make the two piles. Brilliant!

Protip: Put them all in one pile to confuse your opponent.

The fact that the new art has him keeping two sparkly things while dumping three others is a neat touch.

I love playing with this card. My favorite is watching my opponent struggle trying to figure out how to make this suck the least for them. In a deck that has a lot of synergy the fact that your opponent chooses how the cards are seperated has little influence on how much of an advantage is gained by this card.

Should work nicely in a reanimator deck.
