trades with 2 + x storm crows - a bad card all-round.

problem with this card is that you have to tap it to activate its ability. i guess maybe if you didnt have to it would make it broken. but it gives your opponent a turn to respond to it assuming they dont on your turn right after you activate its ability. but well in either case youve already sacraficed your lands. then again there are cards that will get them back which you might want to do just to sacrafice them again to the angel.

I think Latulla must be narcissistic on a legendary scale to think that this thing is better than Serra Angel.

@LeMak: Just activate the ability at the end of your opponent's turn. Have a Crucible of Worlds in play too, just in case. Or, use it in response to land destruction or something.

That said, this is still a bad card.

Vigilance could help...

vigilance does help. i also wanna play this with Desolation Angel, who cares if all ur lands die, theirs do too, and then u have a 9/9 and 5/4 flying. not bad.

Play this card, sacrifice all your lands, then play Armageddon. Then things are looking pretty up for ya.

@DerpKithkin, you tap your lands for mana first, then tap the angel.

*facepalm*

Are you an idiot?

This card actually seems to find more uses with time. Would work great for an extra couple damage with Hellcarver out. Sac your lands, make her big, attack with her and hellcarver, he sacs all your stuff. Meh.

Armageddon trick works, Desolation Angel trick, or any other trick that involves sacing a bunch of your permanents. Not bad, not terribly good due to severe reliance on using a combo or just being underwhelming.

I bought just 1 because.. it remembers me a lot of things from when I started and I still love the art =D

Why hasn't any one seen how wonderful this works with Herald of Leshrac? I know both cards are far from the best out there but the combo would be so evil.

Oh Latulla... how could you even compare yourself to Serra? Serra knew her angels were mana hungry so she gave us her Sanctum. Your angels just eat up lands.

the art is bad assassin.

i would put this in a deck that already had second sunrise

What's with all the hate on this card? I just made an Angel deck off the top of my head.

Desolation Angel anyone?

I think this is a pretty interesting card. Granted it's no tournament staple or anything but it makes you think, and that's what a good Magic Card should do. 3.5/5

Besides the artwork, I don't think this card has something useful to offer: the only useful combo I see is Fastbond + Crucible of Worlds + something to untap the angel (Twiddle, Trickster Mage or similar, the best remains Mind Over Matter); this card is too narrow to offer something more than surprising the opponent by playing it.

Although it isn't a very good card, there are decks where it works well and I think it could be extremely good in a mono-green land ramping deck (casual) tap your lands to get a fatty then sac them so you'll have another fatty, and this one's in the air, not something common to green.

Wizards is always very cautious about printing colorless cards and so they usually end up a bit worse than they should be

Sort of like Wood Elemental, except playable and not atrociously bad.

Right on the money Bass1987. If I ever get my hands on a couple of crucibles Herald and Copper leaf are going in.

Countryside Crusher & Knight of the Reliquary.
No mana cost to repeatably put mass lands in the graveyard...obviously meant to be a combo piece where flying is needed.

You have to wonder if the flavour text was written before the card was finalized.

For 5 mana, why would you want an initially small creature that's prone to removal, takes an additional turn to get big, and still asks you to dump most of your lands for it? Your opponent can even kill her before she gets the counters!

This is a terrible beater.
Sure, Baneslayer Angels weren't a thing back then. But Serra Angel definitely was.
And Rathi Dragon, which is basically this minus the suck.

It's actually a functionally interesting high risk, high reward card. But the problem with this card is the casting cost. This should have been a 3 in that top right corner.

It's a pity to see such lovely art wasted on such a naff card.
