Makes you remember how good flametongue kavu was. It costs less mana, has a higher power, and can kill creatures with four toughness the turn it enters play.

Makes you remember how good Inferno Titan was. It costs the same mana, has more power, and does the exact same thing except more often.

At Wizards-

Designer #1: "Hey, guys. Remember how popular Pitchburn Devils was? What if we make a more expensive version that basically does the same thing?"
Designer #2: "Excellent idea, only let's print it at uncommon. We can't let a card this powerful appear in packs too frequently."

And thus, Gang of Devils was born.

If just the card was as powerful and cool as it sounds...

Pretty sure the designers got their 3's and 6's mixed up. 3 or 4CMC with same effect? Absolutely. Or 6 damage instead of 3? Would tap that. 6/3? Maybe.

0.5/5 - "WTF is this I don't even" when I pulled from a booster.

No reason to make such a controversial creature type... No reason to even go there at all. I have a hard enough time to explain to my church why I play a game called "Magic"... now its got creatures called devils....

MTG already has demons, angels, priests, spirits, ghouls, demi-gods, avatars...

So suddenly with the addition of "devil" it becomes too much? What about cards like Wrath of God? Why do you even have to explain to them anyway? Unless you're playing MTG at church, I honestly don't see how its any of their business. Its just a game. To be played by YOU in your OWN PERSONAL TIME. How absurd of them to be hung up about such minor inconsequential things. They'd probably think Harry Potter and rock songs are the work of the devil too...pfft

Personally, I love the card. The art's really nice, and the ability is pretty cool. Yes, a 3/3 that costs 6 is a bit disappointing, but I find it to be really useful in standard. It's very similar to the Pitchburn Devils, but I find that the flexibility this one offers actually makes a big difference.

Attack then when blockers are declared if it will take 5 damagee use Wasteland Viper to remove a whole bunch of creatures.

You have a hard time explaining to your church why you play magic? I see your comments all over gatherer, they often show that you know how to play the game quite well. Your church frowning upon something that is obviously a strong interest, that seems more problematic than devil imagery. Perhaps you should find a more tolerant place to worship your god?

@TheWrathOfShane: What church doesn't let you play this game? It's not like the devils are going to convince you to start killing people, just like studying Greek mythology doesn't mean you'll turn into a polytheistic.

On a lighter note, this guy was the surprise savior of my Naya EDH deck. I had fond memories of him in my Izzet deck but had taken him out because I got better ones, so went ahead and stuck him in. The 3/3 body is good for blocking most any weenie decks (tho in a Naya deck you don't really have to worry about that), and if/when he dies, the division is a real benefit. He's basically a Flames of the Firebrand on Canyon Minotaur legs!
