Bad? I don't think so. Any green card that helps out with defense against fliers is at least a 3/5, this gets more cause it is cheap and it keeps the target alive. 4/5

I understand that it's not amazing. however this card saved me from losing a round in pre-release. threw it on Gisela to chump block her from destroying my face. It's still better then Fleeting Distraction
Don't forget about Verduran/Mesa Enchantress! And effects like those. The card still seems fairly underwhelming though, as green generally has much more effective ways of dealing with flying. I kinda wish this had another small effect, to stop it from being immediately compared to the 'almost always better' Plummet...
1/5. I even try to stay away from it in Limited most of the time.

Wow, this is really awful. It doesn't even prevent attacking or blocking. If the creature was wrapped in vines, wouldn't it make sense if it wasn't able to just walk over and attack you? It could've granted a card draw effect. At least then you would only be spending mana for this underpowered effect and not losing a card at the same time. I normally try to defend cards like this by suggesting possible synergies with other cards or abilities, but this one doesn't even deserve it.
If you were concidering, for any reason, putting this in your deck, concider the following.
This is a ruling quote from the earlier page: "The creature can later gain flying from another effect. That will override Grounded's effect." All your opponent has to do is enchant his creature with one of the many aura's that grant flying from this set, and you just lost and a card.

How can you guys rate this one lower than Mammoth Harness? There must be two crowds of Magic players here that give ratings, and they've agreed not to rate the same cards.

You can use it to sneak your own angel past an army of Gloomwidows, or have it block creatures travelling through a Bower Passage.
