There's something to be said for this simple wording of the card, compared to the block of text in the Revised version and the weirdness of the Oracle. How hard is it to say "removes flying and does 2 damage"? Pretty hard, I guess, if you want to make sure there are no loopholes.

Hah, "enchant flying creature" love clunky old text on older cards. That aside, there's some pretty stiff competition for other creature hate in {R}, of course there is Lightning Bolt but a card more similar to this card would be something like Flame Sash..since they are both cast at sorcery speed and only target creatures. There's better cards out there, with more appropriate art.
