Awesome reprint, certainly a sideboard staple for red decks for as long as it's in the same standard as a Mirrodin block. This deserves some more love.

Definitely a decent card. Shatter, with a 1cmc 2/2 :D
(and they say red doesn't get well costed creatures ;P)

Sometimes you get angry and you've just gotta break something.

I'm surprised it took them so long to make this card - it fits red perfectly. An angry dude smashing stuff.

For when you absolutely, positively, need to kill a Wurmcoil Engine.

Or Batterskull.

Or any horrible artifact thats giving you trouble.

This completely fits red. Artifact destruction is very good in red, and, if you break it down, it's a Shatter with a 2/2 for 1 colorless stuck onto it. 4 stars for having fun crushing artifacts with a big club.

As much I'd like it to be a Shatter + a bear for 1 mana on top, it's not. The cool thing about shatter is that it's an instant. Being instant speed is worth about 1 mana Concentrate VS. Jace's Ingenuity. Although we have stuff like Shattering Spree to prove that sorcery speed artifact destruction for {R} isn't worth it either. Let's just call it {1} for the sorcery speed artifact kill, and {1R} for the body. Reasonable, but not a 1cmc bear. Just saying. Still a decent card though, 3/5.

buffs champion of the parish, destroys artifact and then bashes for 2 or 4 if you have an assault strobe. great art and flavour but not overpowered a near perfect card

He's a pretty solid card... and every time I say solid, I feel like it's ironic when considering the vandal...

"MAN SMASH! MAN SLEEP! MAN EAT! MAN KILL!" is what I imagine him saying while on the field.

Great utility creature, especially with Innistrad Block's human tribal stuff. Great in limited, great in constructed, great for casual.

I'm sad not to have a playset of these.
As a sideboard I still go for cards like Shatter.
I'd rather have these guys on my sideboard rather than Torch Fiends, but hey I play with what I have :)

Only drawback to this guy, if they have no artifacts in play he will sit in your hand waiting. If they have no artifacts in deck, hes now a 3 mana rune-claw bear.

Oh and be careful. If you have an artifact and your opponent does not when you cast him, your forced to destroy it!

Sideboard card! But I have seen people main-deck him against me successfully. Its a risk that you might want to avoid.

Gets a little more manic when bonded with Lightning Mauler, blink with Conjurer's Closet if your oppenent has artifacts to be smashed.

In many cases you may rather run Duergar Hedge-Mage; though good luck spelling it.
