Finally a great artifact destroyer that mirrors red's ability of doing so. Although it doesn't have instant speed, it's superior to Shatter most of the time. The sorcery type can even have its upsides, considering red's tendency to have effects that work with those more often than with instants.
Unless you don't have plenty of mana and want to do some damage as well, it's also preferable to Builder's Bane.

I've got a playset of these in my Izzet sideboard. They're awesome against artifact decks or any deck that uses artifact lands. Plus, Gelectrodes and Wee Dragonauts can take advantage of multiple one-mana-cost sorceries on the stack.

I love it, destroy as many artifacts as you want at the low cost of for each one. I think I still like Shatterstorm better, but both are great.

Dang this card is awesome! I'd have to say the top 2 artifact destroyer only second because it isn't an instant

You realize the copies don't trigger the Gelectrodes and the Dragonauts right?

I don't think Shatterstorm is better at all. First of all, having to construct a deck with no artifacts is already a huge drawback, and even if you don't play artifacts, Shatterstorm only becomes worth it if you want to destroy more than 4, which will only ever happen against a Mirrodin block or Esper deck. I would say this was the obvious choice against artifact-heavy Vintage or Legacy decks.

Oh, what's that? You have two Isochron Scepters imprinted with Counterspell and four Islands open? Well, that's funny, because I've got four Mountains and one card... one very particular, awesome card.

hmm, I've been looking for a card to help me against my friends myr deck, I might go with shatterstorm but for some reason I like the feel of this better, oh and as far as building a deck with no artifacts, eh I'm a nostalgia*** hardcore, to me artifacts are just suplimentary, they also are brown...

Seriously... I've taken out so much stuff with this card... in EDH, usually at least 3 or 5 artifacts. The amazing thing is that it copies itself, so one counter will only stop one artifact from being destroyed.

Best artifact destoryer in the game hands down. 5/5
this card + liquimetal coating=victory. I love using this to take out mox cards. The only way it could be better is if it was an instant.

I like it when Wizards thinks, "This card will see casual and maybe even tournament sideboard play for decades. Let's give it some really gorgeous art."
The wild/playful colorfulness seems unusual for Pat Lee though -- I'm glad this card didn''t end up looking like Leave No Trace or Cleansing Beam or Reciprocate. Magic has more than enough "beam of energy destroying a thing" pictures as it is. I like that such a colorful spell is designed to destroy (mostly) colorless cards.
I'm sad this card's a sorcery. It wouldn't be overpowered as an instant.
Cheaper to deploy than Shatter, and you can replicate it for peanuts! Plus, it was illustrated by my favorite Transformers artist! (Now if only Dan Khanna would do a {R}/{W} Planeswalker for me.)

mmm it's not strictly better then shatter or crush because those are instant speeds.... this is way better anyways though
@TDL You realize that with that situation, they would still end up with an Isochron Scepter left, don't you. If you target each one with 2 copies of Shattering Spree, they can counterspell both of the copies targeting one of the scepters, making it so that only one was destroyed. You'd need at least 6 mana to destroy both of them. Edit: Yeah. Rate my comment down because it ruins your guys fun. Mature.

Flusterstorm won't help that much, replicate copies don't add to the storm count. If your opponent loads a bunch of mana into this spell and he has not cast anything else yet than Flusterstorm will only counter 1 copy. What you are looking for to beat this card is something like Mindbreak trap or Counterflux.
This card has a new Izzet cousin too. Check out Vandalblast from RTR. Both spells have their merits.

Shattering Spree needs a reprint. It's probably hands-down the 'best-feeling' Red Artifact Remover.
It feels both Powerful and Fair, and if any cards are better at it than Shattering Spree, they'll border on feeling Unfair. Like how Kataki had to go all the way to the Tabernacle of Pendrell Vale to learn how to Curbstomp the Curbstomper, Arcbound Ravager.
Artifacts are in a very good place when Shattering Spree is enough, no more, no less. :) Shattering Spree is an excellent match for Metalcraft.

This is 5*. It's the best at it's job of killing any number of artifacts at a cost. Even when you get mana-screwed at 2-3 mana, this is card advantage if sided in against a deck that truly needs this.
All it misses is instant speed; which depends on your metal. If not this, I use nature's claim for winter orb problems.

Even though Shatterstorm and its ilk are probably superior when the field is loaded with artifacts, this card has one upside that those spells can't hope to match:
The visceral feeling of going from each artifact to the next and smashing away, one at a time.

Vintage underdog; often sees play as a one- or two-of in the sideboard. Often better than Shatterstorm in the format.
