What is this? I don't understand.

I'm honestly surprised this is a real card.

This card is a reference to Plants vs. Zombies, I believe. I think this is hilarious. My new EDH general.

Plants Vs. Zombies! MaRo confirmed this via Twitter. For those who don't know, the creators of Plants Vs. Zombies had a certain amount of inspiration for some aspects of the game because of Magic: the Gathering. As such, this is Magic's tribute to that game, and it's even more fun for the number of players who get the reference (i.e. 90% of the people at your LGS).

I can't help but smile every time I see this card. Glad to see Wizards has a sense of humor. The "Defender" ability was a really nice touch.

If they ever made Duel Decks: Plants vs. Zombies, I could die a happy man.

This could be the worse card in the set, and I'd still love it for the PvZ nod. <3.

I keep looking at the title and reading it "Brave Gamble"

"@StoryFort Are they (PvZ developers) aware of Grave Bramble? It is 100% a shout-out to Plants vs. Zombies."

4/5 for the magnificent flavor. I think I'm gonna join Gelzo in his wait for the duel deck.

I'm with faisjdas. However, it is a pleasant surprise. Who in the heck ever thought Magic would reference an internet time waster game?! xD

It...somehow...works. Yay for the Nerd Community!

I'm buying a box of Innistrad on release day, so I can expect to get a bunch of these. I'd love to alter them with art from Plants vs. Zombies...so I went ahead and did it in MSE. http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww145/Toquinha1977/GraveBramble.jpg

It doesn't want zombies on the lawn.

Reference or not but this really is the epitome of Overcosted. Should have prot Black instead + reach.

Since when was 3 mana for a 3/4 defender with a relevant protection overcosted?

Obviously for limited (barring the off green early defender deck), but this can be REALLY strong in limited. You're killing the entire early board, especially for aggressive decks with Bloodcrazed Neonate or similar (this also shuts down Geist of Saint Traft) , and decks that went for small/fast/cheap are going to have a really hard time getting over this. All of that even better when it can pick up a block on a zombie.

Cards like this enable more complex late game strategy's for limited, I've played this early game, got a few hits in with some festerhide boar before sacing this to an infernal plunge to play a Brimstone volley for the win. All of this as my opponent had just played his balefire dragon to attack next turn for the win, a win that never came for him :)

I love the odd use of pop culture refrences in Innistrad.

had a couple of these at the prerelease running G/W. one is foil, it looks sick with the sun and parts of the ground that stick out glowing :D
oh yeah and it basically shut down everything it ran into. T4 Travel Preparations to make it a 5/6 was great stuff, and along with Doomed Traveler, fliers weren't a problem. those 2 creatures are fantastic in tandem

I would have LOVED this thing with Reach, even if that meant -1/-0 overall. As it stands, I still really enjoy it. References aside, I think it's a nice card, with great art.

With all the PvZ discussion going on, you guys are completely forgetting that this is one of the few half-decent defenders with actual power behind it. Wall of Denial is a great card, but it doesn't stop them from attacking in full force again the next turn. This will shut down attackers, and laugh heartily at zombies.

i dropped this card on the kitchen counter in front of my girlfriend while she was eating (she doesn't play magic, and i'm only really a casual player myself, but she LOVES PVZ) it took her a minute, but she was like :O and a huge LOL soon came. next thing i know she tacked the damn thing to her wall in her office... it's ruined now, but i can live with that i have 2 more. this is a cool card. and the reference is priceless.

I really like this card. And I really like how it just shuts down Zombie decks, giving control the chance to stabilize. Gravecrawler, Dreg Mangler, Geralf's Messenger (even after Undying), and Lotleth-Troll (w/ less than 2 discards) all die to it, and it can block everything they can throw at you until they get out one of their non-zombie flyers in the later game.

This might end up a seriously viable sideboard card for Control decks that utilize Green, assuming Jund Zombies ends up a competitive deck.

No Leatherback Baloth, of course, but decent defender in common rarity. Reach wouldn't have hurt to catch that goddamn Ruinator.

Screw it. I'm making a Plants commander deck (with some sort of Druid commander) and a Zombies commander deck (Sedris).

This is what I want in my front and back garden when the Zombie Apocalypse happens.

Interestingly there are six plant zombies in the game, making it the second most shared type of plant, coming after the eleven walls that share the type.

Aha! Foreshadowing for the involvement of George Fan, creator of Plants vs Zombies, in M2015? Perhaps that's been planned for a while...
