Replaces Creeping Mold as the staple green noncreature Vindicate effect. I like the change. The problem with Creeping Mold is that at four mana, too often it reads "Destroy target land".

Its cost makes sense for all of its abilities, but I feel like it trys too do to much- and as a result it costs too much...

I like it, but it costs a bit too much for me to feel comfortable playing it.
EDIT: never mind. Put together a monogreen deck after pulling two Primordial Hydra cards in boosters. This thing was wonderfully useful more than once, and in green it's easy to get the mana to play it. Much better than I was giving it credit for.

I am running a playset in mono green. Excellent card. Totally love it. I'm still working on my mana-ramp mono green, but these have become invaluable.

At first these things seem over costed but in draft this guy owns! Blow up their Oblivion Ring or something and then use it to chump block their big fatty. Solid 4/5
Someone dropped this guy on a Mimic Vat in a Birthing Pod deck. That game did not go well for me.

Love this card. So versatile in so many ways, besides Mimic Vat, it goes well with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. That lets you destroy a land/enchantment/artifact each turn when it comes into play and then attack with a 2/2 hasted deathtouch creature. Tooth and nail helps get both in play, skyshroud elf or elvish piper helps get Kiki-Jiki as well. Things that let you untap a creature (common in green like Seeker of Skybreak) also help get multiple copies of acidic slimes out with Kiki-Jiki per turn.

All the ways to absolutely, positively ABUSE this card. my new favorite green uncommon
@Scormio: there are exactly 5075 non-human creatures listed in gatherer at the moment. 925 of them have ETB triggers. They all combo with Mikaeus one way or another.

How the hell do you kill an enchantment with acid?
Also, anything big enough to dissolve an entire mountain or forest seems like it would be stronger than 2/2. Or maybe it comes from Segovia.
I remember using this when I first started playing Magic a few years back. Back then, when it was just me and my best friend who also had just started, the idea of having a deathtoucher, plus suddenly killing a basic land, was very exciting on its own. (Especially since I played green with mana accel, and he played blue without it) Now, though my perspective on this card and how it should be used has changed, I still get happy feelings from seeing it.

Card is soo good. destroys just about anything upon ETB and then has deathtouch? You play this and then dare your opponent to attack you afterwards as the slime will kill any creature that isn't indestructible.

High cost, but powerful effect. I run it as a sideboard, for when I need to just be able to remove pesky threats with no questions asked. Note the potential to abuse its effect with flickering (Cloudshift anyone?)

I got one out and then played conjurors closet People don't like playing against that combo. If they don't have any enchantments or artifacts it just keeps torching their lands

Card advantage is always awesome. Card advantage that can win the game (a 2/2 can beat up a player if you're controlling them) or kill a fatty is awesome. Even just killing a land is helpful if someone isn't mana-flooded. If they're mana flooded, you probably should beat them up with someone else and wait for an enchant, a fatty, or an arti to come down; that way they play into you.

This is a really powerful card. He is versatile, taking care of every permament type except for Planeswalker and Creature. Plus he is a 2/2 deathtouch body, so it is very often a two for one.

Consistent 2 for 1. Worst case is you take out a basic land and get a 2/2 deathtouch.

Turn 3: Acidic Slime
Turn 4: Birthing Pod, go into a Titan/Massacre Wurm
Man I love this card.
