Well, its better than razorfield thresher. Probably not worth uncommon though.

For limited purposes, I like a 4/4 for 6 flyer that I can play in green/red. Delightful.

Boring Limited only card. Nothing to see here.

Decent limited card. Strictly worse than Steel Hellkite.

A 4/4 with just flying for 6 CMC??? It should have vigilance and haste too, then the 6 CMC would be a well-balanced cost. And then its abilities would fit its flavor text, which is pretty good! It definitely shouldn't be an Uncommon, either. Come to think of it, this set has had a lot of poor Uncommon cards, like Spiraling Duelist, for example.

why does this have the mark of Mirran if the flavor text means that it's a valuable ally of the Phyrexians? =/

I get that this is intended for limited, but it still disappoints me to see them print a card at uncommon that's strictly worse than a rare from the same block. The could have done something to make this more unique.
As mentioned, vigilance would make sense for the flavor. I'd have been willing to see this at 3/4 if just giving it vigilance makes it too similar to Serra Angel.
Possibly even more interesting would have been an ability like this (still fits the flavor): Spells and abilities your opponents control can't cause Lumengrid Gargoyle to become tapped.

I agree. Commons are okay to be limited fodder. Uncommons are a different beast entirely. Make the card completely awful if you must, but please, give it a perk. Every color has fliers better than this. I think that instead of this, a Tetravus reprint at uncommon would have been awesome. Uncommons are welcome to be limited mini-bombs, and Tetravus would have suited well to the Battle cry theme of the set, felt nostalgic, and some people would actually use it in their casual standard decks.
Maybe they were going to do that, and they printed Thopter Assembly... I'd still rather have Tetravus.

Based on my comparisons of this creature to Sliver Construct, Millennial Gargoyle, and Venser's Sliver, this card is actually a little undercosted. Normally, adding either +1/+1 or flying to an otherwsie vanilla artifact creature appears to cost , but ol' Lumie here gets a full +1/+1 and flying over Venser's Sliver for that cost.
