Between Proliferate and Metalcraft, this card seems absurdly powerful.

Darksteel had the talisman cycle to help mana fixing and splashing. This is the only thing in the block that does that to so I guess it will have to do. More robust than a mana myr and more flexible but if your deck isn't built around it than it lose function fast. Honestly I prefer coldsteel heart or prismatic lens for what it does. Good enough in limited though 3/5

I can see this replacing everflowing chalice in my mono red metalcraft/proliferate.

So good even in decks that can't abuse it.

This will be the new auto-include in most if not all proliferate decks. A lot less risky to use then Mana Cyclix.

I don't see this matching either Everflowing Chalice or Fellwar Stone. Could have left the "comes in tapped" out and it would have been fine.

Following the pattern of nonbasic lands with 2-mana artifact counterparts, this is Gemstone Mine. Since it was printed in a block with Proliferate, and it sticks around after running out of counters so you can sac it, it comes into play tapped. At least, that's my theory.

This is seeing play in the new Tezzy decks. Helps spit him out turn 3, and even when it's out of counters, it doesn't make a bad 5/5 artifact creature. In any other block, this would have been a terrible card.

Huhm. This card is seeing play, albeit in Tezzeret decks. I guess it is the go-to-non-green-mana-fixing-mana-accelerating card right now, so that makes sense.
Shouldn't be picked early right now, but when New Phyrexia comes out and Beseiged becomes the second pack, it will shoot up in pickability as the #1 mana-fixer.

I guess this is new Mirrodin's Pentad Prism?

Awesome in draft. One of the only non-Myr mana ramps available, and a color fixer. I did not lose when this was played, such a horrifying advantage for the format.

One really interesting game, I got to cast my furnace celebration on turn 3 with one mountain, myr propagator on turn 4, Fangren Marauder on turn 5 (with no Green Mana), Throne of Geth with a propagator token on turn 6. Took awhile to set up & I did take some damage, but I ended the game with 61 life never dealing combat damage once.

Liked it a lot more before I read the "it comes in tapped" part...

Why wouldn't you just use a Coldsteel Heart?

@Shoe2
Because thats not even close to standard.

@MasterofEth
This card has turned allot of unplayable hands into workable ones. If your stuck on 2 lands, which happens allot, then this can let you hit your 3 drops. And it can really help mana fix a multicolor deck

@Mflango
It comes into play tapped to balance with the 2 drop mono mana myrs. "Haste" would put this thing over the top of them.

The 3 charges most of the time are irrelevant. The purpose is to smooth out your early game, and this does that wonderfully. Of course you always reserve this mana for last, and later on you should have enough to do everything you want to do.

Coldsteel heart doesn't tap for new colors each time either; plus it's a better target for removal (as it'll remain useful.) This guy is useless in a few turns so is less likely to be nailed.

3 turns of extra mana is probably enough most of the time if it's being used wisely.

I like how after you get rid of all the charge counters, it sticks around to be sacrificed to something or turned into an artifact creature.
I imagine this is lots of fun with Vorel of the Hull Clade.
Shame they were never in Standard together.
