A 1/1 flying infect costs 2, a 2/2 flying infect with an ability costs 4. Seems fair, but Plague Stinger is always going to be more popular in constructed. I can see this being cool with living weapons however. Sac the token, equip, swing.

Pretty brutal in limited. I expect many a game to be decided by this guy. It's risky, but you will usually win if you connect after the pump.

@faisjdas
I think the point here is that you would pump AFTER you connect. if they do not block, then in response you pump. this guy is great, I might consider him in my infect, even though he costs 4.

@Hyroko - the problem is they may use removal in response to the ability. Red in particular can easily bolt or even shock it after the sacrifices but before the ability resolves.

Sac a Necropede or 2 drop counters on blockers, then hit em in the face with 4 poison counters

He causes the same battlefield shennanigans that Phyrexian Ghoul does. He's almost the same card.

He costs 4 instead of 3 because A) he's got flying and B) black cards are no longer designed around Dark Ritual.

And he only gets +1/+1 for his sac ability instead of +2/+2 BUT he's got infect, so it's basically the same boost if all you're looking at is progressing the game towards the end.

More importantly, in my mind, he makes Necropede much better.

I run a casual deck that uses Phyrexian Ghoul + Perilous Myr which seriously complicates the board state. The Imp/Necropede combo is functionally identical.

God bless sacrifice outlets.

Wow, it's an imp... AND a great card! At once!

I think the universe collapsed on itself and then instantly recreated itself from scratch when this card was printed. Oh, and hell froze over.

great when you can pump out a bunch of myr tokens or thopter assemblies, but by then why would you need this guy to win the game, just overwhelm them with weenies!

I like this guy, combos well with myr, living weapons or any token for that matter. Decent uncommon.

This guy is just a house in Limited.
If you pass him in draft, you're going to get your face beat in by him later,
Seriously, just really solid card overall,
Not powerful enough to see constructed too much,
But definitely finds a strong throne in Casual and Limited.

This card wins games by itself, not to mention causes the rest of your team to dodge the nasty side effects of various kill cards (Burn the Impure, Turn to Slag, Volition Reins, etc"

Damn you dirty Phyrexians... you took the beautiful, innocent, benevolant Chimney Imp, and you tuned him into a bloodthirsty monster!! How do you bastards sleep at night!?

Look carefully at this guy's anatomy. Observe its wide, grinning triangular jaw, its slitted, narrow eyes, its excessively-long arms, it's pinkish-beige skin...

It's obviously a one-earred Mirran goblin after phyrexis. It ain't an Imp, it's a damned flying goblin. What were the phyrexian surgeons thinking when they named this thing?

Great in limited- it's pumpable infect and the evasion only makes it sweeter.

Also responsible for one of my worst play mistakes- I sacrificed all my creatures to him to swing for lethal and it got hit by a noxious fumes causing me to lose the game. I later went on to win the match anyway, but the 2-1 lost me the 2nd/3rd place tiebreaker.

Chimney imp got tired of all the jokes, joined phyrexia, and now he is ready to bring pain.
aA flying 2/2 with infect at 4 CMC is nice. We have flying infect at 2,3,4 and 5 drops now, I'm thinking of making my black equip infect flying, then strata scythe can really start to bring pain, since my creatures have built in evasion.

This guy is great in a token generating deck. I have one in my Endrek Sahr Master Breeder commander deck and I'll never take him out of it. Also a great choice for a Mimeoplasm deck.
