Wow, this is insane. In mono-green it gives all your guys invasion, while being a reasonably sized body itself.

this + Tel-Jilad Fallen makes a nearly-unblockable creature. Depending on how many green creatures your opponent is running, this could basically be unblockable.

Overall, I think he's extremely good, maybe even good enough to be a Rare instead of an Uncommon, but I'm somewhat torn on this guy.

Up to now, Green has had virtually no way to get around blockers except for big guys with trample. With intimidate, it finally has a way to get through blockers without having to rely on trample.

On the other hand, they're bringing Bellowing Tanglewurm into the picture in the beginning of the Scars of Mirrodin block. The intimidate factor is severely diminished by the fact that this block is Artifact-heavy.

this is giving to all of your green creatures intimidate, it has intimidate too. So how can be this card is an uncommon?

Such a great card, begs to have a deck built around it and yet is very versatile in many types of decks. Bonus: it's only an uncommon.

Nice card....expect that this block will be heavy artifact. I expect to see a lot of people playing at least some artifact creatures. This card will shine though if your opponent isn't using any artifacts, or if you find a way to eliminate his/her artifact creatures.

Maybe a nice sideboard if you don't see any artifacts in game 1?

Get caught with your pants down. The Wurm provides safe passage to your opponent's face.

A lot of discussion with other players about whether this guy should be rare or uncommon. IMO it should be rare, some other players argued that Mirrodin is artifact-heavy so intimidate cares less. But still, with Infect creatures, this can make some damage.

You guys seem to be focused that the arti heaviness will be this cards downfall, but just look around for one of greens trademark things: Arti destruction! zen was packed with things that will demolish arti's no problem, and for ythose pain the the but darksteels use infect of -1/-1 counters.

I don't know how I feel about it. I love it when green gets love, but for some reason it seems like it's just too strong. I would most likely have a conscience attack if I decided to run it.

This is a hilariously good uncommon, even in an artifact block. One great thing about it is that it's a wonderful tutor-target for Fauna Shaman, sending all your critters through for a win out of nowhere for the low, low price of {3GGG}. Another great thing is that it lets your Gaea's Revenge get past a wall of Baneslayer Angels.

My favorite part about this card is that the highest rated comment for it boldly proclaims that it gives all your guys 'invasion'

This guy is the definition of a bomb. I was playing draft, my big green against WW. I was down to 4 life to his 10, we went into a mexican standoff for three turns until I dropped this guy and he took16 beast to the face. He doesn't even need to attack, he's that intimidating.

Silly rules text again, Wizards. "Green creatures you control have intimidate" would have been much simpler than "Intimidate; OTHER green creatures you control have intimidate".

to the last post: if be some means his color change, or your other creature's color change, he still have intimidate. this is why.
oh and great card by the way

"Other green creatures" would include multi-colored creatures with green in them, correct?

If I were to sell my soul to the foulness of powercreeped green creatures, this would be the my first pick. I wonder why I never see it in constructed, unblockable in all but mirror matches and the rare artifact deck is incredibly powercreeped.

Did I hear "powercreep"? But no, if a card never sees the light of Standard play it has nothing to do with power creep.

I use four of these in my mono green elves. you can play him very early (turn three or four!) with all the mana dorks and then sail on through turn five and six with your wurm and elf army.

My favorite card in all of Magic. This is the card that sold me on Green being my color when I was starting out. He is still in my main deck. He is also the one card that is never going to leave said deck. He is just so awesome.

@EternalLurker: There's a subtle difference between the card as printed and your wording. If some effect caused just this card to stop being green, it will still have intimidate as well as give intimidate to your other green creatures. Not so if it were worded "green creaatures you control have intimidate."

@Sironos: If I had to guess, I'd say that this doesn't see much play simply because of what constructed decks are doing with green.
Valakut ramp doesn't need it.
Avenger landfall ramp sees this as strictly a win-more card.
Green-whatever control says meh.
Elves don't really need it since their win con is to repeatedly mash the Overrun button.

I could see this being pretty good as a one or two of in either a heavy green infect deck (makes Phyrexian Hydra a much bigger threat, and of course there's Putrefax) or in a Genesis Wave deck.

Great card but,it just doesnt fit to green colour...
Green are strong but"fair" creatures, means they cant just go trought opponents defences.
This card rlly is strong and i got it myself so i know how it feels =D
Very easy to win with it.

Not that this guy needs scary combos, but I LOVE dropping him after a Timbermaw Larva.

It's sad for this guy that there are so many artifact creatures wreaking havoc these days. But if you're playing in an environment where there aren't many artifacts or green decks, he's great. Even where artifacts and green critters are more common, I might sideboard him for decks that don't use those, because against them, he WILL do some serious face-smashing. 4/5 - useful, especially in a good place at a good time, but a bit situational.

Great card and all, but couldn't they have just printed it as "Green creatures you control have intimidate", eliminated his intimidate and given us some flavour text?
Yes, it's slightly different because if the Wurm becomes non-green it won't still have intimidate, but that's such a minor distinction.

At first, I was unsure about the change to Fear. This changed my mind.
OmegaSerris
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
I like intimidate over "Fear". Fear felt like the wrong word anyways. If I had never heard of it before, I'd think it meant the creature with it couldn't block or something. Like it was running away. Sort of like Boldwyr Intimidator's ability.

Fun fact: Eldrazi are the only creatures that can never block an intimidate creature as they are printed. You could make this guy all five colors and an artifact, just for fun, and big, bad Emrakul is still shaking in his/her/its boots (?)

Against certain decks, it seems like a better Overrun that can be fetched with Green Sun's Zenith.

Actually pulls a lot of weight in my Omnath EDH deck. Great relevant ability, evasion for green when green isn't really given it elsewhere, and nice stats on a great costed body. You'd likely be running mono anyway, so I don't see it as a steep cost at all.

Well made, well flavored, and well played in decks. 4.5/5

Wizards rep #1: "We need art for an intimidating green creature."

Wizards rep #2: "This is going to be the first green creature with Intimidate characteristic."

Wizards rep #1: "And keep in mind, we've printed literally hundreds of monstrous beastly green creatures. We need this to pop and stand out in an already overcrowded field."

Wizards rep $2: "This might be the hardest art assignment we have to give in the Scars of Mirrodin block."

(artists look around at one another, hesitant)

Everybody: *stands back*

jD: I got this.

Don't use this card in a standard tournament or you'll just *** everyone off and get kicked out for winning too much. My friend just got kicked out of a magic place by using him too much. He will help you win every time.

Can't argue with how good Intimidate for the whole party. Having a bunch of weenie elves attacking for the win, is quite funny.

Wow, this is... well, wow. Of all the colours that could be given unblockable, GREEN!?

There was a weird Black Wizard who did something similar in olden Ravnica, but he was quite burnable. This thing requires you have a proper kill spell on hand and open mana just in case. This thing wrecked me many a time, though I did fend it off once or twice.

Arguably a candidate for rare.

Usually this just means "you lose."

The flavor of green creatures being "used to the wurm" while others fear it is pretty sweet too. I.E. The other green creatures have presumably heard this thing bellowing before and don't fear it. Everyone else fears it and stays away. I assume your other creatures having intimidate is sort of them being near this guy; and everyone else staying away as well.
