Having never gotten to play M10 Limited, I'm very much looking forward to smashing into the red zone with this brute of an uncommon. Glad to see it back. :)

Also glad to see it back. Was actually starting to worry about the fate of Regen.

In Magic 2010 he had the unfortunate luck to be in the same format as Terminate and Path to Exile. Maybe now that removal has been kicked back a little in power (Condemn is still a threat but likely to see less play than the auto 4 of Path was) he might be constructed worthy or at least pull his weight in casual.
I still want to see Troll Ascetic come back instead of this guy - or some variation on another playable card.

I've always liked this card but never played it; I'll have to remedy that...
Oh man. Big? Green? Troll? Huge club? Smashing things? Regeneration? Absolutely love this card.

This guy in and of himself is worth playing green in limited. Godly.

I like the reference to Faerun trolls. Nothing but particular burns keep it down.

The 4/3 body seems to fit the top-heavy looking art.

@Temple_Garden I dont want anything to replace this guy. How about reprinting Troll Ascetic and this guy? I think magic needs more trolls, maby not as tribal status, but that might be fun.

Much better here than M10. Always keep {G} open :)
@ emdee316:
Unless first strike or double strike or some other evasive combat trick are employed, regenerators really get the job done when it comes to blocking and killing. I'm guessing your corrupted zendikon critter lacked first strike, so during the combat damage step, both critters dealt lethal damage to each other at the same time. The other player activated the regeneration shield probably in response to the declare blockers step. Here's a more detailed explanation:
701.11a If the effect of a resolving spell or ability regenerates a permanent, it creates a replacement effect that protects the permanent the next time it would be destroyed this turn. In this case, “Regenerate ” means “The next time would be destroyed this turn, instead remove all damage marked on it and tap it. If it’s an attacking or blocking creature, remove it from combat.”
You can't activate regeneration during the actual damage being dealt; once lethal damage is dealt, the creature is destroyed. However, using the stack, we can substitute that destruction with a replacement effect that will trigger if and only if the creature would be destroyed that turn.

Thanks... It's reassuring to hear officially rather than just hear from someone who misses out a lot on new rules as well that I just had to search for an official comment or explanation...

This guy is so lame he is defined by his equipment, like a bonesplittersquire.
Thrun is not strictly better. if you have one mana open and your oppent is at four health as they cast day of judment, who would you rather have, the 1 mana regeneration or the 2 mana regenerration. thrun is a better card, but not strictly better.

Objectively this is a great card. Compared to Thrun, the Last Troll or Troll Ascetic, it starts to look very mediocre. It may not be exciting but it is effective and does pretty much exactly what green wants to do.
