Pretty solid common for limited.

Reeeeeeally looks like it should have been an Insect Horror.

I feel like the evasion gets between me and his graveyard trigger. What am I doing with this card? Swinging for two, or driving into larger creatures, absorbing a blocker, and kicking for 2 anyhow?

It's much better than Scathe Zombies, nuff said. Strange, but it doesn't add anything to blacks main line (infect and stuff) in limited..unless you're grabbing mirran black.

doesn't really feel well in this block.

Should've had infect and been uncommon, and it'd be perfect. I guess that's what Contagious Nim is supposed to be though... at common....

I think it's a solid card, and is definitely not horrible. It seems a lot of the cards that they make these days really are creepin' a little bit.

Infectious Host is no longer one of my favorites.

I think it should've given one (maybe two, if they made it uncommon) poison counters. If they did that, it would be one of the best Phyrexian beasties.

Mustache, I use it for blocking, these are normally the first things I block with. It's also great to sacrifice, like if you're using Thoughtpicker Witch.

this thing is only rated 3.7? Do you people know what swampwalk means? This thing is the perfect bolt bait and even if it gets killed your opponents lose life! I'm putting this in a revival/swampwalk deck not that this even needs swamps to pull its weight.

2/2 for 3 in black - Not great, not terrible (for the color)
Swampwalk: evasion for the underpowered bugger - Makes it half worth the cost
Pop effect: Makes the card a little more than worth the cost.

With a crappy creature type, this thing isn't really worth running at all. Unless you're making a fun ping deck with things like Hissing Miasma, Underworld Dreams, Blood Seeker, Hideous End, Infectious Horror, Infectious Host, etc, he'll never be worth your three drop spot, especially contending with Vampire Nighthawk.

I use it in a horror deck with some demons. Yes, a horror deck. And yeah, it actually works really nicely.

Nice synergy with Hell's Caretaker and Demon of Death's Gate. Believe me.

Strictly better than Infectious Host.

Putting this in the same set as Perilous Myr makes me want to compare the two. They're both commons with similar effects, but the myr is better in so many ways. The swampwalk and +1/+1 hardly seem worth paying an extra mana for. Even in a black deck or knowing I'd be going up against a black deck I'd still use the myr instead. Maybe if I was really desperate or going super budget in a sacrifice-based multiplayer+pauper deck.

Terrible constructed card, decent filler and good sideboard in limited. If they're playing swamps and you're not an infect deck, this guy can do a good amount of damage by himself. Even if they draw removal for it, he's still gotten through 4 damage for 4 mana and a card which is well worth it.

not bad in a heartless summoning deck, and if you cast Altar's Reap on it you get the two cards back and your opposition will lose two life all for only three at instant speed, not the best you can get but can help if can't find you power houses.

Interesting card. Seems like a good option for the 3-drop slot in a BG Pod deck, since that deck has a hell of a lot of trouble with that slot.

I got three of these during my prerelease, I played Mirrans and it really helped me against Phyrexian decks, which all had swamps. Solid limited card, but nothing special outside of it.

"Reeeeeeally looks like it should have been an Insect Horror."

Read the flavor text; that wasn't once an insect. Phyrexia, bringing you body horror since The Thran.:-)

@StealthShadow

Infectious Host is still better in a zombie deck.
