Its a little one {B} 1/1 that pings when it attacks. What more could an Aggro-Vampire deck want?

Infinitely better than the lacerator. When it attacks and gets through, it does the same amount of damage, better multiplayer creature, and always does at least SOME damage when it swings ( and no ping for me) sign me up!!!!!!!!

lacerator is better. This doesn't kill 2 toughness creatures. I guess if you need stuff to fill your mana curve, maybe this is fine.

It's not Savannah Lions, but really powerful for a black card of that sort. Compare him to Maggot Carrier for instance. This guy is going to deal 2 damage once he attacks. It might not be able to deal two damage to a single creature, but i'd even consider it to be advantageous to let your opponent lose one life instead since this guy will normally just be blocked by a x/1 creature if you start your first turn with him. It's still inferior when used for blocking, but Vampires are found in aggro decks, so we don't have to worry that much about this fact anyways.

For multiplayer vamps, this is better than lacerator. For one-on-one, use the lacerator, or maybe Quag Vampires if your metagame is swamp heavy.

Not bad, although I'd rather have the Guul Draz Vampire and take the evasion. That having been said, combined with his OWN evasion (cough Vampire Nocturnus cough) this guy will pile on damage very quickly.

The ability to deal a pretty-much guaranteed 1 damage per turn is nice, but the small frame is definitely a big minus.
The only time tribal aggro has ever had use for 1/1s that want to be turned sideways is when it's something completely broken like Goblin Lackey.
Nice pick for limited though.

Put in a bleed deck where you just want to take away your opponent's life, regardless of how it happens...I think this card is great!

One of the very few 1 drop black creatures that can reliably attack for 2 each turn. the fact that half his damage is done to your opponent and half to the blocking creature is sometimes beneficial, if you get blocked by a wall or something.

It's like a mini Infectious Horror, only a vampire.

I love Planechase and I like the look of Archenemy. So, needless to say, I really like cards that shine in multiplayer, like this guy.

I don't like him. In the end, he is a 1/1 that needs to attack to do his job. Which means that once an opponente has a creature, this vampire is dead. Sure, played on turn one he can do 3 damage or so. But any copies drawn of him later are dead draws.

great card, perfect for the captivating vampire which needs a lot of quick annoying vamps to get to captivating.

Looove it, basically a one drop 2/2 if he swings in that also hits opponents in multiplayer

Half of an Infectious Horror for 1/4 the cost and it's a Vamp on top of that.
Awesome.

I wouldn't say this is a dead draw late in the game. Even if your opponent has blockers that can kill him he still gets though for 1 more damage, which is crucial in a vamp aggro deck.

It's a Vampire Lacerator, without the drawback and one less toughness. No more will I die to multiple Pardox Hazees (My opponents {dumb friends} play the Haze when I have multiple of the suicidal Lacerators out).

If you get it in your opening hand against a slow deck, this rocks. I really like this one, having more than one on the board early on can really give you some early quick damage.
Don't like lacerator, if the enemy has a wall or disables him, lacerator will kill yourself. This guy is also better later on, since he is sure to give 1 damage when he attack. Don't like the lacerator flavour wise either, that whole cutting yourself thing is too emo.

W/B lifegain/sanguine bond deck.
Opponent on 18.
I have this out, a Tainted Sigil, and Sanguine Bond.
Play a land, Rest for the Weary. I gain 8, he loses 8. Attack with this guy. He loses another 1 (and blocks and kills the vamp).
Sac the Sigil FTW.
There's a reason this guy was being played as a 4 of in any competitive vampire deck, he's very good.

lol this in a multiplayer match with Chandra's spitfire... Gets very silly...
And before you say anything, it does work - I had it confirmed by Magic customer services, any loss of life is considered damage.

This guy is nice, yet I still prefer Vampire Lacerator because having two power allows it to trade with a lot more creatures, and having 2 toughness allows it to 'eat' a lot more creatures.
I run these with Kalastria Highborn to make sure they usually take at least 3 life during most attacks.

No, Life loss is not damage. Damage is life loss.
The two are not interchangeable. This does not trigger Chandra's Spitfire's effect.

Love it. Great way to quickly power up a Bloodchief Ascension in the early game, and giving it some sort of evasion can do the same thing for the later game.

Amazing. Hits For One Guaranteed Every Turn And When You Have Bigger Threats On Board He Likely Wont Be Blocked And Will Go Through For Two. With Nocturnus He Gets Through For 4 Easily.

Sadly, my play circle sees this poor vampire as a giant bullseye. It might have something to do with me always accompanying it with a Mindcrank, though.
