Mediocre card, but pretty interesting if you have cards like Sorceress Queen around. I'm still waiting for playable Scorpions since i think that this would make a pretty sweet tribal deck. Then again Swarmyard does not affect them unfortunately.

It amuses me when they stick creatures that are quite good into sets in which they are quite bad.
Yes, this card is terrible in Rise. No killing a single spawn is not a good use for it.

It could be used for killing walls, not spawns, as most of the walls have 0 power. Though that depends on if they're even running any. Other than that, he's pretty mediocre.

In two seperate games at my pre-release it took out Valakut Fireboar. Felt pretty sweet at the moment.

When I looked at this card's art I was like "aaaaaggghhhhhh" *drool drool* then I looked down and the ability made me sad. :(

This card isn't terrible in RotE. It can get rid of pesky walls like Guard Gomazoa and some potential bombs like Kiln Fiend and Valakut Fireboar or even some levelers before they're leveled up. Clear a path for your Arrogant Bloodlord!

Arrogant Bloodlord should be riding one of these rather than that giant ant.

That doesn't look much like a scorpion...

this guy is pretty good in limited especially for taking out a wall of omens or clearing chump blockers which are endless

Wished it had Deathtouch, but solid in Limited.

Keep in mind: At best, he's killing Fireboar or a wall. At worst, he's killing an eldrazi spawn. Either way, you'r getting a 2/3 creature - which is decent in limited.
Gets rid of stuff that are usually a nuiscance or turn into a big problem.
A gross removal spell with a 2/3 creature for 4 cmc.
So... run black white/blue and lower their power with enchantments or pull out a Godhead and blink the scorpion if you really wanted to?

Great for taking out those blasted Llanowar Elves or Birds of Paradise. Not the best card around, but it's a common, and it 2-for-1s all those pesky utility creatures.

This could be pretty good in Vhati EDH

Pretty balanced for the limited, would love to see some actually good scorpions in black through. Green is way ahead with all it's cool spiders, and scorps will never get reach.
