Not one I expected a reprint of, TBH.

I think the M10 art is way better than the Shadowmoor art. The Shadowmoor art is just a kithkin with some shiny shield wings, this guy is riding a horse hundreds (or possibly thousands) of feet in the air.

Ridiculous card in limited. White is looking like a very strong color for draft/sealed.

I think the new art looks awesome; it really captures the feel of the card. As for the card itself? Just as awesome. Using this Aura later in the game can basically turn any of your creatures into a flying beast. The only real flaw I can think of is that it is certainly oriented for an only while mana deck (sure one can use it on any deck but it will shine the best on pure white decks). This doesn't keep this awesome Aura from being an excellent card, a brilliant 4/5.

This is a very useful card, especially if you're playing mono-white. This is a great way to make cards with good effects stronger (and it gives them flying--which gives you a rather large advantage against an opponent who doesn't have much flying and at least gives you a strong blocker against an opponent with a lot of flying).

This is probably my favorite attack oriented aura because in addition to it's mechanical usefulness, it enabled one of my favorite in game moments-- This card (as a few others) gave me a 9/9 flying lifelink Akrasan Squire. I must admit I found it rather awesome to see a creature that, while good, tended to get eaten by Vein Drinkers a lot end up such a game winner. It was an immensely satisfying victory for the underdog--and doubly so, since I was playing an opponent I tend to lose against--the same one whose Vein Drinkers ate my Squires. I must admit I see the in battle dialogue as something like this: "My name is Akrasan Squire, you killed my fourth cousin twice removed. Prepare to die."

As explained, great card, regardless of art. And, of course, it's best in mono-white.

Should be top 10 in the creature Auras. This works really well in mono white weenie decks. Almost ANY creature suddenly becomes a 5/5 flier. How is that so wrong? I know that people complain about card advantage but if you look at this as a finisher (likely in weenie) then the game is probably over anyway.

This card works really well for a Green/White deck. By the time I manage to play a relatively powerful green creature, I've got enough Plains to make this card well worth it. Flying and a ton of power and toughness (in fact more than most green buffs)... What's not to like?

this on Palace Guard, one of the best blockers you can get because he becomes this towering wall that few cards can get past.

Is it me, or is that the Blood Knight in the art?

I hate to jump on the white gets all the good cards bandwagon, but white got this, while green got oakenform over blanchwood armor. :(

Cards like these are part of what makes Magic so exciting. The kind that can turn the tide in one stroke, the kind you beg to draw when you're up against the ropes.

Very good aura. They need to make more auras like this. Simple Auras that give +blah/+blah aren't going to cut it anymore.
The art is kinda goofy though and the flavor fails. Some dude on a horse jumping on floaty pieces of rock? With Zendikar it kinda makes more sense now, but its still goofy.

I can't believe a card this good is uncommon, I'm even more shocked I really don't see it get played ever... Where I am at any rate.

I too LOVE the art work on this card!! Kinda lifts ones spirits with it's beauty!

Makes a creature a WHITE version of Nightmare LOL :P

I hate win or bust cards. It's nearly always going to result in one of two things that makes the game un-fun.

You play it, and they remove the creature: You're miserable because you just got two-for-oned AND end up a turn behind due to paying 3W to their W or 1B.

You play it, and win the game in two turns: Your partner's miserable because a random 4 mana card just sealed them out of the game.

I run four of these in my mono-white enchantment deck. None of the people I play with use enchantment removal. Every time I've used one of these, I've won. Fantastic card. Who doesn't like the white Blanchwood Armor?

I for one am not a big fan of this cards art, neither edition. I feel it is corny looking. Doesn't give the impression of an aura or of great strength. None the less, this is a great card.

Waste of mana? This should be cake icing in a mono-white soldier deck just for kicks, or a in a red/white for the fun of it. Throw this on a guy and then get a kiss from his mom as you equip your Whispersilk Cloak. Play with a Kor deck or Lightning Greaves for a laugh!

And for those who hate the artwork... Imagine, you are a creature summoned, the hand of the controller propels you upward, land breaking and thrusting, launching you at your target. At the end of it all, after cutting the enemy with unimaginable speed, you awake to see your horse grazing happily. You are returned to ether whence you came, because the game is won.

That is, if your opponent doesn't Pacify, Journey to Nowhere, or Doom Blade because you had no equipment on.

The ruling reads like this: "This ability counts the number of Plains controlled by Armored Ascension's controller, not the enchanted creature's controller (in case they're different players)." Would Blanchwood Armor work the same way? Blanchwood's text reads almost the same as this except it says Forest and doesn't give the creature flying. I was wondering because my girlfriend played Act of Treason on someone's Blanchwood-enchanted wolf and he said that because she had mountains and not forests the Blanchwood wouldn't work. If the ruling for Armored Ascension worked for Blanchwood, then that player would have been wrong.

Regardless of my question, this card is amazing. I run two in my deck and when they drop people get worried.

This card has one flaw: 3W is a lot to pay for something that can die with its creature. It's still awesome, and it's practically immune to all forms of red removal, which helps some.

this card is the reason why i always put some anti-enchantments in my decks when i play with friends.....they all have mono white decks, and they all have 4 of these. really makes the game kinda lame when they win with the same card every game

This card is to imballanced. You shouldnt be able to have a 10/9 out on the fourth turn. And why the hell was this card printed in M10 and blanchwood armor was replaced with oakenform. 0.5 out of 5, because it was poorly made and not well thought out. If it said +0/+1 for each plains and flying that would be reasonable... And dont even give me the aura drawback bullcrap, this wins ALOT of games.

This will always be one of my favourite cards.

I started playing magic about the time Rise of Eldrazi was released, but I didn't play very often and didn't know anyone else who played. I eventually shelved my meager collection because it was never used, and I wouldn't touch it again until Innistrad was released.

Well 2012 rolls around and it turns out a couple of my buddies have decided to start playing Magic, and they're already into Friday Night Magic shenanigans and whatnot. I decided to get back into it and invite one of them over to trade/play cards for a while.

I hastily compile a mono-white deck out of Zendikar and Magic 2010 cards to use against him (and a few cards I trade from him when he shows up), and he arrives with a black deck. Well I didn't shuffle too well, so I get a hand-full of cards I can use to start with, but for the next 15 or 20 turns I draw nothing but plains and maybe one or two spells.

I'm not sure how I lasted as long as I did. At this point I had exactly one creature, 20 Plains, a single point of health, and a whole lotta nothing in my hand. He's tapped out his swamps and he has a bunch of beefy black dudes that are about to slap my shit. I drew Totem-Guide Hartebeest, and I knew exactly what I wanted to put into my hand.

"The meadow sprang up beneath me, and I perceived a path from our people's defeat to our highest glory."
The flavor text became reality for me. Victory, in the form of a 20/20 flying creature, was snatched almost literally from the jaws of mana screw.

Drawing Hartebeest for an Armored Ascension remains my most memorable (and dramatic) comeback to date. The flavor text just made the moment perfect.

This is one of the first cards I used when I started playing. I can still remember the first few decks that a friend and I made, in our mtg infancy, and this was in one of them. The decks were bad. Really bad. That deck's only saving grace was this card, turning its cheap 1/1's and 2/2's (about all it had) into behemoths that flew over the creature-exclusive green deck.

We didn't know then that green was so great at stopping fliers, nor had we seen a naturalize.

Oh, the innocence of newbs.
