I aspire to have one of these as a pet sometime in the future.

This dragon was the centerpiece of my old skirk alarmist/imperial hellkite deck. The ability might as well be troll shroud; I don't remember having ever activating it once in the hundreds of games the deck saw. It's a deterrent more than anything else.

A great and original card with good artwork to back it up.

one of the best, if not the best blue creature ever. it's my win condition 9 times out of 10 in my hunting grounds deck. nothing beats my opponent's "awwww sh*t" face when it drops on his turn.

why would anyone ever target this creature?

looks almost exactly like a redder 9th gen wind drake. Different artists, too.

Wow, a blue dragon, with a cheap costing Redirect ability. Sweet.

Why would anyone target this guy? They wouldn't. On his own he's sort of boring, but as a Scion of the Ur-Dragon target, he is AMAZING. The difference that being able to "surprise" people with this ability makes is astonishing.

Also, on its own, if someone targets its morphed side, thinking its gonna be big and nasty, you can, in response, pay its morph cost, then pay the redirect cost.

Changing the target to something illegal counters the spell. So sadly Cloudshift can't be abused with this.

There are two times they'd target him:
-Before he's morphed (notice his morph is {U} less than his cost, and his cost to change targets is {U}. In response you turn this guy up and kill their guy with their kill spell.
-If he's the only creature on the battlefield or you're out of mana, he isn't safe.

Aside from tricks, this is basically bad hexproof, but that's not a bad thing. I'd say 3.5/5. He's not amazing but he is an on curve flying beater that will usually be tough to blast.

5/5 Flyer for 6 is a fair base, Spell punting is an interesting ability, and the Morph ability allows for some surprise shenanigans. Gonna doom blade my one morphed creature? How about no?

Normally his ability is not relevant, but you can play your boring 2/2 for 3, and if they target it and you have 4BlueBlue open, you can redirect the spell and get a 5/5 dragon.

2/5, always hated morph because nobody likes 2/2 for 3

@TheWrathofShane

2/5? Really? You've got to be joking. The point of this card is not to just play it as a 2/2 for 3 mana and keep it that way. Either you morph it, then flip it, or you just cast it. Simply giving a creature morph doesn't make it worse.

Also, people seem to be so obsessed with the fact that the redirection ability isn't as good as it looks at first glance that they forget the fact that it actually does something really useful. Imagine if it said, "U: Quicksilver Dragon gains hexproof until end of turn." That would be almost the same thing. This guy is like Sphinx of Jwar Isle except often better because you can target it yourself.
