I like the card a lot! Althoug h you have to pay , you get one damage and tap the creature! Last week I took down somebody with a Liege of the Pit because every time he hit upkeep, I tapped his Liege until he ran out of creatures, the Liege did some of my handywork for me.

Has the potential to save my rear in my archer tribal, and works as great unconditional removal in it when equipped with Gorgon Flail; most archers have the requirement of taking out attackers or blockers only. Great card, and more than enough reason to splash red.

This card makes vectis dominator cry itself to sleep at night because of how good it is.
Icy & damage... not much to complain about here... I think we got lucky the activation is only 1.
Although if the activation becomes a problem you could run Thundersong Trumpeter which has higher power and may suit a faster paced deck... but with either card you are able to create somewhat of the same effect, whether ur looking to remove a blocker or null an attacker. But tapping the creature can add up to nullify a second blocker. And adding 1 point can pick off key component creatures that accelerate control decks like: Noble Hierarch, Birds of Paradise, Dark Confidant, and plenty of other new 1 body toughness rares that are finding there way into the MtG world.

The major reason I like this card is because my Lightning Helixes can now take out creatures with backends of 4. That, and it solves a fair amount of problems all by itself.

@ Phoenix-Saturn: Yeah unless of course the creature is shrouded, regenerates, has protection from red/white, industructable, hexproof, but yeah otherwise instant kill..... of course its at sorcery speed aswell
