Not bad, its like a Pacifism that can target different creatures at a time. What keeps this guy from being really good is his pitiful toughness; if it were slightly higher then it wouldn't be a vulnerable to burn spells.

A decent two-drop, great fodder for cards that boost white and red creatures. It's also common.

Toughness was expected MTG usually makes these kinds of cards 1. Ballynock Trapper costs 4 for a 2/2 monocolor. Most noobish people don't get that some cards are the only ones of their criteria in the game.

An interesting card, although it is obviously going to die to any sort of creature removal or burn if it gets annoying. Still, worth a look.

He may be weak but with any weak creature you can always pump it up!

At this point, that 1 toughness doesn't matter quite so much, because he's already got 2 power at 2 CMC. Dark Confidant is a 2/1 for 2, so he's just as vulnerable, but he fits the curve perfectly. This guy is a great early drop that's relevant at all times, and if your opponent wastes removal on it, bad move on their part.

Strong common, but one thing bothers me. You don't cover the mouthpiece of a brass instrument with your lips like that when you play it. And is the metal cage around his head attached to the instrument in some way? So odd.

I need one of these and a Droning Bureaucrats for my Numot EDH for slowing down opposing fatties and token armies.

I prefer stun sniper, though that might be because I don't use any soldier synergy.

When I used this guy, I often had the problem of being able to stop a giant creature from attacking but then having to face against it as a blocker. Stun sniper removed that problem, and added in a bonus point of damage, all for 1.

Though, his 2 power might make him better as an attacker, but I prefer people like boros swiftblade for that kind of job.

Overall, not a bad card, but it just doesn't agree with me.

I'm surprised this guy didn't get an Azorius update in Return to Ravnica.
