Time will tell whether or not this card will be as popular as its forefathers, Armadillo Cloak and Loxodon Warhammer. I have the feeling that it will.

Pure awsomeness. Armadillo Cloak in equipment form is amazing. Still can't say if its better then Loxodon Warhammer or not, guess that would depend on the kind of deck its being used in.

5 stars. If you see this card in draft and you pass it, you should probably quit drafting. This is an absolute bomb and will win you games in limited and constructed once you land and equip it. If you've ever been on the receiving end of a Loxodon Warhammer, you will understand why this card rocks so hard.

The color cost makes it a tad worse than Loxodon Warhammer, I think, but that by no means makes it a bad card. Once you get either of them out, things get really nasty really quick.

Really great card, best of the cycle. Probably overpowered. Even so, it only replaces Loxodon Warhammer if you are playing GW, and even then it's really a personal choice of +3/0 or +2/2.

not necessarily limited to Naya and Bant, and I can imagine more use coming out of it when the new sets come in and 10th is cycled out

This card is amazing. Yes, even in constructed standard. It forces your opponent to deal with either the creature it is now attached too, or the sledge itself. either way, your burning a card out of their hand. All I can say is : It's Hammer time.

this card aggravated me insanely, I drafted it instantly thinking I was getting new armadillo cloak but 6 manna instead of 3 makes it much slower than the cloak.

almost as good as Warhammer
the color and -1/+2 make it an almost .0002% worse then hammer when you are playing these colors

Have to look at the good and bad aspects of this card together, not just the omg its awesome posts. For one thing, it defintley makes one of your creatures big and brawny in a hurry, but it does cost 6 mana or 3 per two turns, either way thats slightly less cost effective especially if its stopping you from playing something from your hand that would have used the mana spent on it. For example divinity of pride itself only costs 5, and at the full 6 mana you could be playing a flameblast dragon. The added 2 toughness on this card vs. the loxodon warhammer is a major bonus though, with the new lightning helix and lightning bolt coming back, you need extra toughness on your creatures if you don't want them to die really easily. The lifelink is also amazing, your doing a lot of damage and getting life back. The downside is two fold, the first is that with all that mana cost, if the creature you attach it too is removed, the constant moving it to a new creature (if it isn't destroyed by artifact hate) takes up an extra 3 mana a turn. The second issue is the card is taking the place of something else, and that something else could simply be another creature with lifelink. Is it better to have an extra creature on the field with lifelink or an equipment that can give lifelink to your other creatures? That really depends on the deck.

look...this thing is just upsurd...no joke...
i mean come on...a equip it with a knotvine...then next turn i play conquirors pledge and bash you for 10/10...perfect!...
once again just a great piece of equipment...though it is a bit expensive for mana cost

Good card, not as flexible as Loxodon Warhammer (as to what color decks you can put it in). Personally I would rather take the one extra lifegain and damage done that warhammer gives. The card goes great with anything that has vigilance. 4/5

the only drawback, is the lifelink doesn't stack of you have 2 sledges on 1 creature.

On the plus side, if the equipped creature is destroyed you don't lose the Sledge like you do the Armadillo Cloak. Though for 3 mana, it could be worth it to take your chances, depending on the creature you want to power up. Uril the Miststalker is brutal with a Cloak on him.

Cannot completely replace Armadillo Cloak since the cloak can be used to stop an opponents creature

Am I crazy or is that the conclave symbol on the side of the hammer?

The obvious point of comparison for this card is Armadillo Cloak, since they have the same initial mana cost and the same effect. However, I'd say they are quite different cards both in the way you play them and in terms of which decks they can go into. This is a much worse turn 3 drop for an aggressive deck than the Cloak, since if you play a two drop creature then play cloak on it and attack, they will have to either find a way to deal with your threat or lose. On the other hand, if their turn goes untap, Doom Blade your guy, you're the one on the back foot.

So Cloak has a bigger potential upside, in that it's a full turn faster, but Sledge is repeatable and doesn't risk card disadvantage (although killing the guy you paid three mana to equip is still a significant loss of tempo). On the other hand, this card is probably amazing in long drawn out slogfests, because it turns any creature you draw later into a legitimate threat, and lifelink is one of the best abilities to have if your opponent tries to race.

This was possibly the strongest card in sealed deck at the time.

i prefer it to the cloak just because it dosnt die to doom blade and unsummon. the extra 3 mana can be anoying, but zendikar came right after this, full of great land excel.

Literally might be the best card in Shards limited. I mean, BBE is great, but still, have you seen this thing in limited? A solid 4/5. Worse than loxy tho

I got 2 of these. One non foil, and one foil. The foilie one came in a pack with my second Sen Triplets. Unfortunately I hate Esper and everything it stands for. This is going to see play in my {G}{W} Weenie deck.

EQUIPPABLE ARMADILLO CLOAK!

Yeah, pretty good. A bit expensive, but it can't be destroyed by bouncing. I'm feeling nice, so 4.5/5. Not FANTASTIC, but still very good.

After my EDH opponent dumped my Eldrazi Conscr-iption from charging troll, I equipped this & used Sovereigns of Lost Alara to find Armadillo Cloak for flavor...&...DOUBLE LIFELINK (evil laugh)

Felidar Soveriegn floats around in there because I am that kind of player...

@ NoobOfLore

you have a defender deck?!?! sweet, me too., so if you equip this to vent sentinle and use his ability to do direct damage to your opponent do you gain the life from lifelink?

Absolutely love this thing. It's green/white, which means mana ramp shouldn't be an issue, and you can get this thing out and equipped quickly. I use this in almost every deck that runs these colors; most effective in my wolf deck :-) Make a 4/4 Voja token, equip this, and swing. I gain 6 life, possibly kill a creature, hit the opponent, or worst case, have to make another token.

If only there were a White and Red equip card I could use...
Dx then it be awesome to run my red/white/green mirrodin pure deck
still wishing Phrexian didn't have the advantage
but I will never say Phrexia had won... there will always be fighters who fight against them D:
just can't wait until Wizards decides to put that back out there and continue it though....

also contemplating if it's even worth following wizards any more after that little "Phexian won, Mirrodin is dead" shit they did...
