For a common this is an OK card. Upon its death, if you have mana open to pay for it, it replaces its self....if you have a dude in the grave.

Seems like alot of 'If' s to me. Its not horrible, it is a common 4/4 for 5 that sort of replaces itsself, but for 3 colors or mana just use a friggin Gravedigger and get a better 4/4 to be the beater half of this card.

Yeah, this card really loses its effictiveness compared to graveyard fetchers, especially considering you got to pay, have the guy in your graveyard, and this creature has to die. All of that is quite the set up.

The "h" in "Thrash" is misleading, don't be fooled. They were hinting at its playability with this name.

I'm running one currently for lack of better options but I'd honestly rather have a third Sprouting Thrinax in its place.

What is wrong with this card actually? 5 mana for a 4/4 in a jund deck this is actually perfect because if you lose broodmate in battle you can resummon it for 2, and then get the two 4/4 dragons back.

Also good for splashing allies. 4/4 beater that can make allies stronger even when dying.

Actually a good card that I personally enjoy

Solidly "meh". I could envision myself using it in a Devour deck, but I wouldn't expect it to be fantastic. I guess it would pay itself off when it raises a Sprouting Thrinax.

It feels like with this guy's inherently difficult cost, that the disentombing should have been a given, but alas.

Regardless, this guy is way better than all of you are giving it credit for.

kinda surprised that no-one's mentioned protean hulk i devour my protean hulk and my carrion thrash I pay 2 to get the hulk back, and I search out 6 cmc1 dudes for my next dragon to eat still with protean around to do his thing

I don't think you fully read the card. It doesn't resummon (put it on the battlefield) for 2, it puts it in your hand. So you are actually resummoning it for 8, possibly over 2 turns. That isn't all that bad, but you HAVE to keep 2 mana ready at all times just in case they kill this thing. And playing it without having a decent target in your graveyard is like playing a really expensive Gravedigger in the same situation. It's just too unreliable

4/4 for 5 isn't that bad guys. It's not great, but this guy has his uses.
And the ability to bring back another Jund creature (Can you say Sprouting Thrinax boys and girls?) makes it pretty handy.

Yeah, with a 3 color cost it could have probably done without the additional cost for the effect. Definitely one of those cards made for starting players to trade out.

I'm guessing if I were drafting back then, and I were in the colors already, I'd certainly grab it, and it might be worth throwing a copy into a Jund reanimator style EDH deck. Otherwise, it's exactly meh.
