As much as i tend to hate Tribal as a heavily supported theme, there has never really been a Skeleton Lord, plus this guy makes combat with the undead leigons you will undoubtedly have alot more interresting. Not something I would play, but casual Tribal guys will love this card.

unfortunately for the anyways weaker Skeleton type in regards of tribal use, their Lord himself is not a skeleton.
anyways - a nice card.
by the way, that's the fourth zombie lord now, the precendent ones being Zombie Master, Lord of the Undead and Undead Warchief.

As the second newest zombie lord (Cemetery Reaper being the newest), I have to say this is a pretty neat card. I in particular love his interaction with Zombie Master, which basically says "Attack me. I dare you." and other regenerate creatures, even common core staples like Drudge Skeletons. Even Cemetery Reaper plus this guy wreaks of undead synergy.

However, on a 2/2 body, ~ is pretty easily killed, and on it's own, it's not all that effective of a card. Deathtouch can only do so much to other creatures which regenerate. Even so, the pump effect on a 3cc zombie is amazing if you drop him at the right time.

This bugger is a house. Stops the green fella from driving his big creatures onto my deathtouch zombies. And if he does, he'll soon see his creatures again with Rise From the Grave.

My favorite of all lords, personally. Deathtouch is a great thing to give all of your creaures, especially creatures that have a way of coming back.

This guy is an incredibly awesome lord. Sure, he is a 2/2 personally, but his effect is insane. In a deck laden with cheap creatures which are easily pulled from the Graveyard, deattouch and +1/+1 is bannanas.

Can't miss the synergy with Deathbringer Thoctar, even have Death starting both names. Deathbringer totally machine guns down all of your opponent's creatures with deathtouch.

Death Baron is a solid zombie lord. He meets all the requirments for the standard lord:

3cmc, +1/+1 to other creatures of its tribal type, and an additional unique bonus.

Death Baron's deathtouch is very usefull for zombie tribal and skeleton tribal, it is slightly more obvious why he is so effective for skeleton tribal (regenerating creatures, and creatures that return to play are very deadly with deathtouch).

I run Death Baron in a zombie tribal deck along side Lord of the Undead, and Undead Warchief. As far as lords go this one runs best with creatures with low cmc due to it having a static ability, being realitivly cheap compared to Undead Warchief (1 mana cheaper) and works well with festering goblin, not much is scarier than a 1/1 zombie with death touch for Black that can take down a huge creature and another small creature with it.

All in all Death Baron is a good lord, A very solid 3 drop in Zombies OR Skeletons (it is a shame that it isn't a skeleton in addition to being a zombie).

You couldn't even do a legitimate Skeleton tribal until this guy arrived. Skeletons were usually only an annoying roadblock for opponents, but with this guy, skeletons become flat out dangerous, thanks to almost all of them having regeneration of some kind. Death Baron is quite boring as another Zombie Lord, albeit very useful, but the overproduced Zombie tribe didn't need him. 5/5

I love how several people are hating on this card because it has a 2/2 body. Chances are that if someone is running a zombie tribal they also have Cemetery Reaper, Diregraf Captain, Undead Warchief or some of the other creatures that increase the stats of zombies. Also with the sheer number of black cards that bring creatures back from your graveyard, and several nice ones that are zombie specefic, it's not much of a problem if he does die. 5/5

Interestingly enough, this makes Ice Age's Gangrenous Zombies basically a board wipe. Also interacts well with Fleshbag Marauder, making the decision to block or not to block much more difficult.

Is it just me, or is the Death Baron wearing the Fallen Angel hat?
