A card that costs nothing to play if your attacked...cool.

Combos really well with Temple Garden.

"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" Amazing card, it plays with your opponent's mind. He's always gonna be reluctant to attack with his small creatures early in the game after realizing that your deck packs these kitties. :) 4,5/5.

this card is really astonishing and as aforementioned serves just greatly as defense without even having to spend any mana.
you may even get a sweet revenge after killing the only creature on your opponent's side this way, thus being able to hit him with that guy for two on your turn.

on top of that, there's not much to worry about that card even if you play against burn or control or, to put it bluntly, decks that don't run creatures in general: 3cc for a 2/3 reacher? still not a bad deal.

Its my version of the Plumeveil in my green/white deck. Not as big but this guy is free and hits back. Plus I think its a big plus that he can survive a volcanic fallout.

Works amazingly in my Naya Warrior deck. I'm using Lush Growth in my deck to meet the land requirements reliably by turn 2. I also run Wild Nacatl, which couples with Lush Growth very nicely as well.

At SavageBrain89: no, this wont combo with Temple Garden because Temple Garden only adds green or white manna and is not a plains or a forest which are required land types not manna types. If you want to combo him like that, then play Lush Growth because it will make one land three diff land types. Lush Growth will also work with Wild Nacatl.

Sweet card a free 2/3 reacher in the middle of your opponent's attack?? Awesome.

@cadenblade: Actually, it does combo with Temple Garden, because temple garden is both a forest and a plains.

Turn one, my opponent attacked with a Raging Goblin... I dropped all four of these off a Temple Garden in response. It was glorious.

This is probably one of Giant Growth's best friends.

This dood + smite > the fun I had with my white green deck before they existed.

cadenblade is a fine example of someone whos either new, or just plain ignorant shouting about rulings trying to look smart when in fact, a simple glance at temple garden clearly states both forrest and plains in the type line. Not that i need to look as the ravnica dual lands were pretty much f-ing famous. Maybe not as much as the original dual lands but still. Please... if your new or your friends often tell you you are wrong... you are. Dont be an idiot.

A great response to Dark Ritual users and their shiny turn 1 Hypnotic Specter. Wait till you see the look on your opponent's face after he happily swings with specter on his turn 2 and all of sudden runs into this kitty... And if you add Harm's Way to your deck, you have pretty much covered all early game threats from any deck. You will even have the open white to protect the Qasali from a bolt, and if he terrors or uses an edict, you still have the Harm's to block and kill his specter. And look he didn't get 2 life or a bonus land from Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile

Also solid against any fast goblin, merfolk, or zoo deck.

5/5

Got owned once by a friend who used these and Temple Garden. I remember him dropping two on my second turn and proceeded to cast Watchwolf. That was bad.

A 2/3 creature with reach that you can cast for FREE and has flash?

Everyone's talking about defense, but against a creatureless deck, remember that this can be played when your own creature attacks.

@Chamale: The clause looks to see "If a creature is attacking you," not just if a creature is attacking. Your own creature can't attack you and thus can't trigger this guy.

Great with Fleetfoot Panther. Put this down for free, cast the panther, put this back down for free.

Also, panther can instead be used in the deck because it's cheap, efficient, and effectively a way to save a creature.

One of the few creatures in my cascade 5 color deck, its great to hold a handful of cards and let my opponent assume that i have 4 of these in my hand that i can drop into play at any time

Two of these guys and a cloud curio, with the appropriate land of course, causes an infinite loop of creatures entering and leaving the battlefield at instant speed. For a win condition/insurance add a soul warden for infinite life or Faerie tauntings for infinite life loss. Add something to generate a creature for the opponent and a way to force them to attack (Gideon Jura works well) and you have yourself a fun multiplayer combo deck.

I love this card, there's nothing more satisfying than having an opponent swing at you when you have no creatures out and then have a Cat Ninja drop on them out of nowhere...

@Cadenblade
Read the type line again - Land - Forest Plains - It's a Forest and a Plains!

As for the ability activating on your turn, try reading the ability - Your opponents creatures have to be declared as attackers.

Essentially a free 2/3 with Reach.

If you're playing WG and not running 4 of them, what were you thinking?
Kryptnyt
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@jsttu
If you've played this guy for free after activating Gideon Jura, you were cheating. You can only play it for free if they attack you. If they attack Gideon, they haven't fulfilled this clause. See the rulings.

Man, this would be pretty solid even with just the conditional flash. This, though? Jesus.

Lawl..
P1 T1 Temple Garden (tapped)... Pass.
P2 T1 Mountain, Goblin Guide, Swing.
P1 Drops 4 of these and blocks.

P2 O.O

P1 T2 Swing for 8, forest, Watchwolf Pass...
P2 Concedes.

This thing is so screwed up; if you are attacked, and if you have a forest and a plains:
1)you don't pay its mana cost (and as if this wasn't good enough)
2)it has flash
3)it has reach
4)it's actually decent at 2/3

I mean, what the heck?! This is borderline broken, if it didn't have the "if you are attacked" clause that is

Unfortunately @TheWrathofShane, but it specifically says that you need a forest and a planes.
