1 mana for a free chump block on a big creature, even one with flying, and you gain 4 life out of it. Or, to make you not gain life, they waste removal on a 0/1 flier. Either way good deal. 4.5/5

haha, wait till they attack all out, then mirrorweave this sucker. They're not gonna deal any damage because of the one power but you can block anyways to gain barrel of life.

There is nothing I love better than a solid one drop, and this fits the bill perfectly. Works just as well in the early game and late game...versatility is oh so sweet.

This + Indestructibility is rather decent, I suppose.

if you look closely, the artist hid a *** in the negative space.

Everyone I play with hates this card with a burning passion. I once had four of these out within my first three turns and my other two opponents were scared to attack me. Scared of teeny moths. Any card that can do that is a winner in my book.

One of my favorite 1 drops ever. So powerful for 1 mana. It's a common. Plus - even the artwork is amazing! I mean, he managed to make a moth look cool. Love this card.

I had never heard of this card until I saw it on the Xbox Live game. At first, I was thinking that it was a stupid card. By itself, it's not all that great. You can cast a lot of other spells to gain live and if this guy dies without blocking, you don't get the life gain. However, combined with a regenerating spell or indestructibility, this guy can be useful. It's a useful and creative card.

umm, the cuteness factor is off the charts ... Can you imagine this thing just meandering, and it completely stops Supreme Exemplar for a turn?

One of the best tricks with this guy is to have him join in blocks with other creatures. If the opponent doesn't have enough damage to go around, you gain the life AND the moth stays around to gain life again next time.

Don't laugh now, but this creature is also an amazing unit to use with any creature who bands. Seriously. If you're attacked by a bruiser, have the banding creature eat all of the damage, and the moth still gives you life and lives.

Been battling against this too many times combined with one thing that makes it really annoying: Swarmyard.

this + 2 or 3 auras ( like Improvised armour or moldervine cloak) = don't worry about blocking
And if you can't , you always win 4 life and prevent some damage for only 1 wihte mana

Bad card is bad. Why?
- 1: lifegain sucks. Unless it's a card that by itself generates more life than your opponent is capable of dealing damage (which ain't the case here), or the card is good enough that you'd play it even if it wouldn't gain you life (which ain't the case here either).

- 2: you can not rely on it, since it depends on your opponents deck, if this card does anything at all. Your opponent got mostly creatures with fear, shadow, trample, or any other kind of evasion? They all make this card instantly useless. If your opponent got any burn with "deals damage divided any way you want", or just cards that keep dealing small amounts of damage each turn (like prodigal sorcerer or honden of infinite rage) this card is totally useless as well. Or if your opponent doesn't rely on creatures at all, like if he runs a combo, mill, or burn deck.

- 3: even IF you play a deck that wins by gaining life (like by using well of lost dreams, searing
meditation, test of endurance etc), there are better lifegain cards, because you can't rely on this one.

- 4: it doesn't deal with the creature it blocked. Let's assume your opponent ain't an idiot: then his creature is probably capable of killing you, or beeing part of a combo. Which means you want it dead. You don't want it to give your moth a stern look, which is enough to kill it, and then continue beating the crap out of you. You want that creature dead, or you want your opponent dead. This card does not kill your opponent, this card does not kill the creature attacking you.

- 5: it's a one-shot effect. Compare it with swords to plowshares or condemn or similiar stuff. Let's say your opponent attacks with a 5 power creature, without trample, fear or anything. Moth blocks, you gained now basically 9 life (5 from having the creature blocked, 4 from the moth). Then the creature keeps attacking you each turn, because instead of adding cards that kill creatures, you added moths. If you'd have killed the creature with condemn or swords to plowshares, you'd have practically gained 5 life the turn you got rid of that creature (since it couldnt hit you) and 5 life any following turn that the creature would attack you, if you wouldn't have been able to take it out.

- 6: your opponent knows what's coming. If you play something like condemn or stp, it's at instant speed. Your opponent attacks, maybe just paid for equipment or auras for his creature, and BAM it's gone. If you play the moth: your opponent can plan around it. He sees what you got, no surprises, everything there for him.

It's not the worst lifegain card ever. But even IF I would build a lifegain deck, I'd rather put cards like lifeburst in it. Or Loxodon Warhammer, Lifegift, Grim Feast, Proper Burial, and so on. I understand the appeal of this card to newer players, and which is of course a good thing. That doesn't change though that THIS CARD IS CRAAAAAPPPP!

Such a great creature. The dirtiest trick is to have multiple moths block somebody swinging for lethal, then cast Fog or Holy Day. It totally slows the game down. Great flavor and design all in a tiny package.

Such a well designed, beautiful looking one drop. That alone makes this card very cool to me.

Renders even a five power trampler useless once, which is pretty impressive for a one drop common.
