I want one of these. Yeah it's expensive but it just begs to be played.

Most Magic players seem to have their own giant Timmy creature that they fell in love with before realizing a deck can have more than giant creatures, and this one is mine. Back then, all I needed to see were those two beautiful numbers down there and I knew I had to have it. I even still used it as a finisher when I moved on to more controlling builds. Now, it occupies the very first spot in my tradebook until another bright-eyed young Timmy sees those two 11s and goes giddy with excitement.

strictly worse than darksteel colossus, apart from this being blue and that one artificial.
The person in the flavor text seems to exaggerate a little. See b.f.m.

First the Winter Orb and now this! Those poor bears are not having a good time.
Mark must not like them.

Play it with Quest for Ula's Temple at opponent's End Step on 4th or 5th tunr as first drop is the best way to use it. My favorite fatty ever, great artwork and flavor 5/5

Man- I wish I could give this a five... but it's such a difficult card! Still my first favorite Magic card. Jeeze, I musta been 12 or so when I pulled this and I was in awe.
I guess this inspired my love for Dark Depths, huh? And my yearning to break that card...

The artwork always reminds me of the stocking-snake thing that starts devouring that one kid's presents in The Nightmare before Christmas. Owmnawmnawm.

Delightfully silly and one of the few huge blue "Leviathan" style creatures that was actually playable in semi-serious decks, namely reanimation back in the day. Has almost now practically useless these days, though I suppose a person with a sense of humor could make some sort of EDH / Commander deck full of these crazy, huge blue creatures.
Finally, there are ways to make its upkeep into an advantage (Land Tax, Balance, etc.) or at least work around it (Life from the Loam, Crucible of Worlds, etc.)

Levitation Quest for Ula's temple with high tide and mana chains works wonders. Had to put at least one in my deck, no one expects the kraken!

I have already voted and commented the Ice Age version, but I can't avoid commenting this one too...
I miss the old fatties with drawback (just for those who didn't deduce this from the comment on the Ice Age version).

I agree with a lot of you. It's not a good card but you just have to make a deck around it, it's that awesome.
