In general it is a great card for elf decks. But it is best not used if you know the person you are going against has either Wrath of God or Day of Judgment, unless you always plan on keeping two mana untapped to make this card sacrifice itself.

Unless you are, well, dumb enough not to leave 1G open at all times with this guy, there is no way any sort of Wrath effect should ever be a problem.
Outstanding card.

Question here, a Fireball that deals 1 to each of the Land that turned into 1/1 Elf would destroy all the lands wouldn't it? This would make this card very risky against certain decks, which is why I only rated 4.

unfortunately from now on your lands have summoning sickness
but everyones gotta love using elves mana production and attack with just enough elves to get one through and then sack the rest to make that one a one hit kill
synchronises with Oracle of Mul Daya

Heh. Heh. Coat of Arms. Suddenly all of you elves are that much bigger. Forests are even better investments. Then again, that synchronizes with any tribal deck sooo..... But the point remains. Those are mighty oaks swingin' through now!!!

The elves in Magic are basically the Viet Cong.

what about jorga treespeaker? her final ability (Elves you control have " tap: Add two green mana to your mana pool.") wouldnt that plus this card give you double the mana and a bunch of attackers?

Honestly the fact that your lands can be killed is made up for by the elves spells and instants that make them next to and/or indestructible so nuking the field you can really make it so that does nothing to you. Though in my opinion this card is great for a green/red devour deck. Put this guy out and you have something for a cheap devour with haste and/or flying to eat and get powered up by. Though for this to work the deck must be built so it can function with mostly red lands just in case if you set this effect chain off. Though having a 45/45 with haste and/or flying is pretty useful.

It does throw summoning sickness all over your lands as they come into play but any aggro elf deck should be well on it's way by turn 4 or 5 when this hits the table. Combos insanely well with Wellwisher, Heedless One, and Timberwatch Elf.

The powerlevel of this card is nuts...

Alpha Status + Defiant Elf then drop this.

Am I missing something; why is this so good? I mean, obviously it gives you a lot of elves, but now there is now wrath of god, day of judgement, damnation, mutilate, black sun's zenit, and even killing wave that might just kill every land you own (aside from apocalypse). In my mind that sounds way too risky. Please enlighten me about this card.
