An excellent archer 'lord'. Since it cares about damage, not combat damage, it and reactive archers (Such as those who deal damage to attacking or blocking creatures) can create a solid defense that also acts as a threat.
What is the proper ruling of this card, when it attacks an opponent controlling a creature equipped with Pariah? And does it make a difference if the creature is one like Angelic Protector, where it gets buffed each time it's targeted?

One thing Id like to clarify, (this may seem a silly question but bear with me). If i have two Greatbow Doyen s does his ability cause X2 damage to player or just X1 damage to player.
This came up in a game with my elf archer deck and my opponent felt it would only trigger once as the damage is dealt by the archer not Greatbow Doyen, and so due to the wording would only do it once.
I'm not sure if i got conned as i haven't read up on the rules recently.

This, Thornweald Archer and Viridian Longbow always make me laugh... it's sooo nice to remove unwanted creatures in green and damage your opponent at the same time :D
@Lord_Andrak: I think you read the card wrong - Greatbow Doyen only causes creatures to deal damage to players. If one of your Archers deals damage to a creature, then Greatbow Doyen causes your Archer to deal that much damage to the creature's controller. If multiple Archers deal damage to a a creature (say you blocked a Serra Angel with two Ezuri's Archers), Greatbow Doyen triggers once for each time your Archers deal damage, resulting in 8 damage damage being dealt to your opponent.
Some rules clarification (in case it ever becomes necessary): Trample: If you somehow give a large Archer trample and attack with it... let's say you've got an 8/8 Archer with trample, and it's blocked by a 4/4 creature. You assign 8 damage to the blocker (resulting in the blocker taking 4 damage and the last 4 being dealt to your opponent), and Greatbow Doyen causes your 8/8 Archer to deal 4 damage to your opponent. In other words, Greatbow Doyen doesn't count the damage assigned to creatures, but rather, it counts the damage being dealt.
Deathtouch: Creatures with deathtouch can still deal more than 1 damage to other creatures even though 1 deathtouch damage is considered lethal. As such, you can have Thornweald Archer assign 2 points of damage to a single creature, and Greatbow Doyen will then cause Thornweald Archer to deal 2 damage to that creature's controller.
Stacking: Yes, Greatbow Doyen does stack. If you've got 2 copies of Greatbow Doyen on the battlefield and your Thornweald Archer deals 2 damage to a creature, both copies of Greatbow Doyen will trigger, causing your Thornweald Archer to deal 2 x 2 damage to your opponent (for a total of 4).
Damage-triggered abilities: Abilities that trigger when a creature deals damage also triggers when Greatbow Doyen causes an Archer to deal damage to a player. This means that Umezawa's Jitte equipped to an Archer you control gains 4 counters when that Archer deals damage to a creature. Likewise, if your somehow manage to make Stigma Lasher become an Archer (through for example Runed Stalactite) and it deals damage to a creature, then that creature's controller will recieve damage from Stigma Lasher and will be unable to gain life the rest of the game.

Fun, but I ask. WHY DOESN'T HE HAVE REACH!?!? Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. Otherwise, he would have found a place in my Nath Commander/EDH.

If they really wanted to make a great archer lord, they should have dropped the "lord" effect (+1/+1) and just given them vigilance. Extra power on a creature that needs to tap doesn't help much except in blocking situations. Usually power boost are to promote aggressive actions while his second ability wants you to keep your archers untapped to 'ping'. As is, you have to make a choice to take advantage of the boost and swing, or use his ability and ping for (usually) less damage but possibly a creature kill.
Don't get me wrong, I like him. He isn't a bad card, but this is just what I think. Something else funny, he is an archer without a ping ability himself.

I just run four, four Imperious Perfects, and the rest of the deck as elf archers. It's the deck I play when I don't want to think too hard.
This would be great but sadly its tribe is sort of bad. Most archers are rated less than 3/5. Add that to the fact that this is the only archer tribal in the game and that archers mostly exist to hose flying and you have a weak deck. As awesome as this guy is he does not really have a home. Still, I like him.

That Falkreath Exterminator's not too bad an archer to run alongside this guy.
I didn't know there was a Repercussion lord. (also: surprised that nobody has mentioned that card yet)

@GrimjawxRULES - this is utter nitpicking, so please forgive me, but what you wrote isn't *quite* accurate:
> You assign 8 damage to the blocker (resulting in the blocker taking 4 damage and the last 4 being dealt to your opponent)
Trample doesn't *automatically* mean that any "leftover" damage is assigned to the defending player. Rather, it offers you the opportunity to do so, once all blocking creatures have been assigned lethal damage. Assigning 8 damage to the blocker would result in 8 damage to the blocker - assigning 4 damage to the blocker, and 4 damage to the opponent, would have the result you described.
This would actually come into play if you had two Greatbow Doyens out. In this case, you'd actually *want* to have your 8/8 assign 8 damage to the blocker (rather than 4 to the blocker and 4 trample damage), because then the full 8 damage would be "doubled" by the Doyens, rather than just 4.

4 Thornweald Archer
4 Ezuri’s Archers
4 Jagged-Scar Archers
4 Skyshroud Archer
4 Scattershot Archer
Win or lose, this is a fun group right here.
Also, Predatory Rampage. Yup. Think about it.
